Hello! My name is Sarah, I am a licensed therapist based in Southern California. I specialize in working with immigrants and children of immigrants to empower them to overcome the unique challenges of balancing East/West cultural norms. You're the expert of your life, I am here to empower you and offer different perspectives. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences and my Masters of Arts degree in Marital and Family therapy. My clinical background includes working with people in outpatient settings and higher levels of care, supporting people in creating a life worth living.
Our first session will primarily focus on gathering personal and family history, what your goals are for therapy, and what you see the best version of you doing. Future sessions will be tailored and focused to the goals set in this first appointment.
As a provider, my focus is you! I utilize an empathetic and direct approach to support you. Open communication and trust are essential in the therapeutic relationship, and I pride myself on fostering this.
I enjoy supporting individuals with managing their symptoms of anxiety and depression, coping through life transitions, managing their relationship with food and their body as well as building their self esteem. I am passionate about working with children of immigrants and third-culture kids (TCK). As a TCK myself, I was raised by Lebanese parents in Saudi Arabia, and moved to the United States as an adult.

Sarah keeps the focus on you and what you need. She listens carefully, asks thoughtful questions, and encourages reflective conversations that bring clarity. She is direct while remaining open-minded and welcoming. I was looking for someone who understands mixed cultures and the challenges of navigating multicultural identity and life as a foreigner, and she has been very thoughtful in that regard.
