I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience working with individuals and couples navigating life transitions, grief, trauma, and relationship challenges. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on building emotional insight, resilience, and practical coping skills. I work from a culturally responsive, strengths-based perspective and strive to create a safe, supportive space where individuals and couples feel heard and empowered. My goal is to meet clients where they are and support them in developing healthier relationships with themselves and with others.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is a relaxed, supportive conversation focused on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We will talk about your goals, concerns, and what you would like to work on, at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You can expect a nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and supported, and we will begin identifying next steps tailored to your needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strength is creating a space where you feel safe, seen, and deeply understood. Whether you are carrying longstanding emotional pain, trying to break unhealthy patterns, or simply needing room to pause and reconnect with yourself, I meet you with compassion and care. While therapy often begins in places of hurt or uncertainty, I also believe it can be a space of rediscovery of joy, purpose, and a deeper connection to who you are. Healing is not only possible; it can be transformative and empowering. I specialize in working with individuals and couples within the African American community and approach therapy with cultural humility, warmth, and respect for your lived experiences, resilience, and strengths.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals and couples who are seeking greater emotional awareness, healing, and healthier relationships. I work well with clients navigating life transitions, grief, stress, trauma, anxiety, or relationship challenges who are open to self-reflection and meaningful change. I am best positioned to support individuals who want to better understand their emotions, develop effective coping skills, and build a stronger relationship with themselves. For couples, I work with partners who want to improve communication, deepen connection, and address patterns that may be creating distance or conflict. My ideal clients value a supportive, collaborative therapeutic relationship and are motivated to grow, heal, and create lasting change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. I also teach mindfulness and DBT-informed skills to help clients notice their thoughts without judgment and respond to challenges in healthier, more balanced ways. In our work together, we look at patterns that may be increasing stress, anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm. Clients learn practical tools to challenge unhelpful thoughts, manage strong emotions, cope with stress, and stay grounded in the present moment. Sessions are supportive, collaborative, and focused on building skills you can use in everyday life. My goal is to help you feel more in control of your thoughts, better equipped to handle emotions, and confident in creating positive, lasting changes.
