Are you stressed and overwhelmed by your health, your day-to-day life, or your relationships? As a Psychologist with more than 30 years of experience, as well as being a two-time breast cancer survivor and a caretaker for my elderly parents, I can help you to navigate health issues and life stresses more effectively. Life can be difficult for each of us at some point in time, in ways unique to our own circumstances. My goal is to help people through the tough chapters so that they move into better chapters with additional tools to handle challenges and stresses. I don't view people as being broken or needing fixing. We all need someone with whom to sort things through at times, someone who isn't part of our day-to-day mix. In therapy, clients develop more effective expectations by redefining their stresses and challenges, reduce emotional upset and distress by looking at their issues from a new angle, and feel empowered by trying new approaches to effective problem-solving. I would be pleased to walk this journey with you, to reduce stress and find a more satisfying approach to life. Available appointments are those set aside specifically for intakes. I see clients through Grow Therapy on Monday and Tuesday. I cannot do letters, FMLA forms or provide disability opinions for clients who have not already been involved in therapy with me for at least several months. While I really enjoy working with individuals aged 65 and older, due to Medicare regulations, I cannot see traditional Medicare clients for self-pay. I can see those seniors with Medicare Replacement plans which are accepted by Grow Therapy. I only work with individuals, and do not do marital or family therapy.

Sometimes in our lives, we will have experiences that will require some form of intervention. Together, let's explore healthy interventions. Trauma doesn't have to mean catastrophic. My goal is to provide a safe space. To assist with the development or refinement of skills that will allow you to explore opportunities for change. I believe in offering a space where you can simply be yourself — no performing, no shrinking, no pretending you’re okay when you’re not. The work we do together is collaborative and deeply human. It’s a space where your emotions are met with respect, your questions are taken seriously, and your growth unfolds at a pace that feels steady and safe. I support people who are navigating anxiety, depression, major life changes, relationship stress, women’s issues, and those heavy seasons where everything feels confusing or stuck. Together, we move toward clarity, emotional balance, and a more grounded connection to the version of you that’s been hard to access under the weight of it all. My approach is shaped by the years I spent navigating different backgrounds and environment of living situations. Those experiences broadened my understanding of identity, culture, and the many ways people learn to cope, survive, and make meaning. My experiences have taught me to honor the values and perspectives each person brings, and to approach every story with genuine curiosity and respect and to listen to understand and seek clarity. That awareness is woven into my work — steady, culturally attuned, and deeply aware of the complexity of individual's challenges.

My name is Kevin Crabtree, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia. I wanted to be a therapist from the time I saw Deanna Troi on Star Trek: The Next Generation, because I knew even then that feeling truly heard and understood could change everything. Since 2008, I've worked with at-risk children and families, federal and state prisoners, and military service members and their families, and that range has given me a deep and practical understanding of how human beings actually navigate hard times. I am solution-focused and strength-based, and I work to reduce the stigma around mental health by helping clients build support, expand coping skills, and find language for what they're experiencing. I have a particular focus on men's mental health, especially for Southern men who may have grown up with the message that asking for help is a weakness. I believe getting support sooner makes everything else, relationships, career, daily life, more manageable, and I try to make that process feel as straightforward and judgment-free as possible. In our first session, I'll share a bit about my background, give you a tour of the Grow platform, and then we'll start talking about what brings you in and what you're hoping to get out of our work together. I takes a special interest in overcoming the barriers to mental health care for Southern men, aged 20-50.

My Professional Background and Counseling Philosophy My passion for mental health has shaped my work with individuals, families, and communities across a variety of settings. Over the years, I have had the privilege of collaborating with clients to enhance their well-being, drawing on my experience across diverse settings, including hospital Emergency Departments, psychiatric units, community organizations, and mental health agencies. My professional journey includes supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities, assisting those facing mental illness, and working with people who have experienced homelessness and hopelessness. I have also provided both individual and group therapy within clinical settings. Counseling Philosophy At the core of my counseling practice is the belief that meaningful change occurs through collaboration and purposeful effort. I view my clients as the experts in their own lives and encourage them to take an active role in their treatment by investing time and energy in the process. Together, we identify the outcomes that matter most to the client and work to ensure consistent progress toward those goals. My approach centers on empowering clients by fostering self-awareness and resilience, and I am dedicated to ensuring every individual feels heard, understood, and supported throughout their therapeutic journey. Commitment to Client Autonomy What distinguishes my counseling style is a steadfast commitment to honoring each client’s autonomy. For example, I have worked with clients who struggle with anxiety and self-doubt. By collaborating closely, we identify the client’s unique strengths and develop practical coping strategies tailored to their needs. As clients move through this process, they gradually regain their confidence and begin taking meaningful steps toward their desired outcomes. This experience reinforced for me the importance and effectiveness of a supportive, empowering therapeutic alliance. In every interaction, my focus is on achieving the best possible results and facilitating lasting, positive change.

I am a clinical social worker with more than 20 years of experience and practicing out of Georgia while being licensed in Georgia and South Carolina. My goal is to support individuals in learning healthy coping skills that they can utilize in their current situations as well as in the future. I practice from a perspective that learning more about yourself and how your nervous system responds, brings about empowerment in coping with life events.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 16 years of experience in counseling and direct case management. Most of my career has been spent with children and families in the midst of homelessness, foster care, and/or adoption, so I am no stranger to walking alongside others in their lowest valleys and on their highest mountains. I have also worked with many adults and couples as they navigate depression, grief and loss, anxiety, and relationship issues. With a background in psychology and a continued interest in the way that our brains impact our lives, I work with each unique client to untangle the white noise in their mind and achieve their goals.

My name is James Fetner, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I work with children, teens, and young adults outside of Grow, though on here I am open to all ages. I graduated with a Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019 and have been practicing since, except during a year and a half period where I was unable to work due to long-Covid. I specialize in addressing trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, and ADHD. If you read my whole bio and think I may be a good fit but these are not your areas of need, or you have one or more of these in addition to another diagnosis that I have less, but still some, experience with (bipolar, substance use, OCD, etc), feel free to reach out anyway to discuss or schedule an intake if you like.

You’re capable, responsible, and accustomed to holding things together. From the outside, you may appear to be doing well. Internally, you feel anxious, emotionally exhausted, or caught in patterns you understand but still cannot seem to change. You may be overthinking decisions, carrying too much for other people, struggling in your relationships, or wondering why your insight has not translated into meaningful change. I’m a licensed therapist with more than 20 years of experience helping professionals recognize and shift the patterns keeping them stuck. My approach is direct, insight-driven, and focused on helping you understand what is happening beneath the surface so you can make clearer decisions and create change that lasts. If you’re ready to understand what keeps repeating and begin moving differently, schedule a consultation or book your first session.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
