Fese Elonge PhD
I’m Dr. Fese Elonge, Ph.D., LCSW, a licensed clinical social worker with over 13 years of experience supporting adults through anxiety, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, and emotional overwhelm. My doctoral-level training strengthens my practice through advanced clinical knowledge, research-informed care, and a deeper understanding of how culture, relationships, and life experiences shape emotional well-being. I provide culturally responsive, evidence-based therapy in a supportive and collaborative space where clients can gain insight, develop practical skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.
First session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and understand what brought you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you have been experiencing, what feels most important right now, and what you hope will be different as a result of our work together. You can expect a supportive, judgment-free conversation with space to ask questions, clarify your goals, and begin identifying practical next steps. You do not need to have everything figured out before you arrive.
Strengths
I bring warmth, clinical experience, cultural awareness, practical strategies, and a collaborative approach tailored to each client’s needs and goals.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who appears to have things together on the outside but may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected, or stretched too thin internally. They may be navigating a major life transition, relationship stress, burnout, self-doubt, or simply recognizing that the way they have been coping is no longer working. I work especially well with thoughtful, motivated adults who value personal growth and want therapy to feel both supportive and purposeful. Together, we focus on gaining clarity, strengthening confidence, improving emotional well-being, and creating practical changes that feel sustainable in everyday life.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we identify patterns that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, self-doubt, or feeling stuck, and develop more balanced, effective ways of responding. CBT in my practice is collaborative and practical, with a focus on helping clients apply what they learn in therapy to real-life situations.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I use a culturally responsive approach by recognizing that each client’s background, identity, values, family experiences, and life circumstances can shape how they understand stress, relationships, and healing. I aim to create a space where clients feel seen and respected while tailoring treatment in a way that is clinically sound, collaborative, and meaningful to their lived experience.
Strength-Based
I use a strength-based approach to help clients recognize the resilience, skills, and resources they already bring to the challenges they are facing. Rather than focusing only on problems, we also identify what has helped them cope, adapt, and move forward in the past. Therapy then builds on those strengths to support confidence, problem-solving, and meaningful change.
Psychoeducation
I use psychoeducation to help clients better understand the connection between their symptoms, stress responses, thought patterns, and behaviors. By making these experiences easier to understand, clients can feel more informed and less overwhelmed. I pair education with practical strategies so clients can apply what they learn outside of sessions and feel more confident managing challenges in everyday life.
