(she/her)
Hello, I'm Liz, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience. My journey in mental health therapy has been deeply rooted in a trauma-informed approach, and I have dedicated much of my career to helping individuals understand personality disorders—their own and those of family members. I have a strong connection with the LGBTQIA+ community and extensive experience working with children through music, art, and theater. My practice also includes working with families, couples, and individuals, addressing a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting challenges, body dysmorphic disorder, and struggles related to transitioning or alternative life styles. Additionally, I have supported many clients who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I use EMDR as part of my trauma treatment. My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I reject stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, rational-emotive therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution focused therapy, EMDR for trauma and complex PTSD. and I work tailoring our dialogue to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you! -Liz Lizotte
