Hello, I'm Liz, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience. My journey in mental health therapy has been deeply rooted in a trauma-informed approach, and I have dedicated much of my career to helping individuals understand personality disorders—their own and those of family members. I have a strong connection with the LGBTQIA+ community and extensive experience working with children through music, art, and theater. My practice also includes working with families, couples, and individuals, addressing a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting challenges, body dysmorphic disorder, and struggles related to transitioning or alternative life styles. Additionally, I have supported many clients who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. I use EMDR as part of my trauma treatment. My therapy style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I reject stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic, rational-emotive therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution focused therapy, EMDR for trauma and complex PTSD. and I work tailoring our dialogue to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps toward change. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you! -Liz Lizotte

There were multiple instances in my intake appointment where she said things that weren’t at all relevant to me—it felt like she mixed me up with another client. She seemed determined to figure me all out in one session, and I couldn’t follow her train of thought at all. She asked me the same question twice in 10 minutes and when I answered the second time, it didn’t jog her memory of the first time. It was a very strange appointment, and I don’t recommend this provider.

I saw that Liz had an expanse of experience but was disappointed that I had to repeat myself three times within the first fifteen minutes of our first session. These were also questions I had previously provided answers to in my questionnaire. I feel like she did not prepare for our meeting and had just woke up .

Liz was very caring and really heard me out on a bad day. She listened and helped me gather my thoughts and refocus on a solution. Looking forward to continuing to work with her.
