Kimberly Denson
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes that therapy should be a safe space where you can be honest, feel heard, and work through life challenges without fear of judgement. My approach is warm, compassionate, and practical. I do not believe in simply telling clients what to do; I believe in meeting them where they are, helping them understand themselves and their experiences.
Strengths
My strengths are my ability to listen without judgement, connect authentically, and create a safe space where people feel seen and heard. I am compassionate, relatable, and solution-focused while also being honest and encouraging.
Ideal clients
My Ideal client is ready to understand themselves better, willing to work through their experiences, and willing to make meaningful changes. They may be navigating stress, relationships, family responsibilities, life transitions, self-esteem, or simply feeling overwhelmed by everything life is asking of them. My ideal client doesn't need to have everything figured out; they just need to be willing to take the first step. I am not able to accept any client who has an open/active case with the Georgia Department of Family and Children Services.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, we look at patterns that may be contributing to stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or feeling stuck. I help clients challenge unhelpful thoughts, develop healthier ways of thinking, and practical coping strategies they can use in everyday life.
