LICSW, 25 years of experience
Carl Jung once said, “The world will ask you who you are. And if you don’t know, it will tell you.” Here’s the truth: the story you tell about yourself will shape the next chapter of your life—whether it’s full of courage and clarity, or stuck in old loops of powerlessness and shame. But you have the pen. You get to choose a new narrative—one built on healing, accountability, and real self-worth. I believe our active choices create our emotional confidence, our sense of belonging, and our capacity to thrive. When you change your story, you change your life. So the question becomes: Will you keep rehearsing survival? Or will you rise into a life you actually designed? Empower your voice. Redesign and refine. Choose freedom.
During our first session, we’ll take time to get to know you—your current concerns, any patterns or experiences from the past that may be shaping the present, and what you're hoping to gain from our work together. My goal is to create a space where you feel at ease, understood, and right at home. The initial assessment will include a thoughtful review of your mental health and medical history, including past experiences with therapy or substance use, any history of suicidal ideation, family background, work and childhood experiences—and just as importantly, we’ll explore what brings you joy, peace, and a sense of meaning.
I bring deep compassion, clinical sharpness, and unwavering commitment to the table—plus a sense of humor that knows how to hold the heavy stuff without making it heavier. I'm experienced, warm, and real. I don't hide behind jargon or judgment. If you're looking for someone who sees you, gets you, and stays in it with you—I'm that person. And honestly? I can't wait to meet you.
I provide comfortable, discreet, and expertly tailored mental health counseling services for Federal and State Civil Servants in the Nation’s Capital and the greater DMV metro area. I understand the unique pressures of serving on The Hill—and the toll it can take on your emotional well-being. You don’t have to navigate it alone. As a culturally attuned, deeply informed counselor, I offer grounded support for Black women and other women of color navigating high-responsibility roles and the emotional weight that often comes with them.
Welcome to counseling! I am a dedicated therapist who offers an authentic, collaborative, and affirming approach to healing. Rooted in psychodynamic theory, my work is also integrative, incorporating techniques from various modalities to best support each client's unique journey. I strive to understand individuals within the broader context of their relationships, environments, and experiences while keeping the therapeutic process centered on their specific needs and goals. In addition to therapy, I provide Human Rights advocacy support, coaching and psychological assessments to evaluate cognitive and emotional-social functioning. Whether through advocacy, therapy or coaching, my goal is to create a supportive space where clients feel understood, empowered, and equipped with the tools they need for growth and self-discovery.
