About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with adults and families in Washington, DC and Virgina. I believe therapy can be an important tool to self-discovery, while building greater awareness and compassion for yourself and others. My approach blends therapeutic and coaching techniques, as well as mindfulness and affirmation. My particular areas of expertise include anxiety, relationships and dating, and career challenges. Through choosing to engage in this important self-work, you will begin to feel more empowered and able to face the future with optimism.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is a time for us to get to know each other. I will share a little about myself, including my background and experience and also learn more about you. We will talk about the reason you are seeking therapy, and what you think are your strengths and challenges. If we decide to work together, we will use this information to develop goals and a plan for treatment.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are my ability to relate well to others, to be empathetic, caring, and solution oriented. I am also creative and will encourage you to try new things. My therapeutic approach blends cognitive behavioral, mindfulness, and solution-focused therapies and practices.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with a range of adults, but predominately professionals facing challenges in the workplace or dating and relationship difficulties. I also work with individuals experiencing anxiety who are looking to change thought patterns and develop more healthy ways to cope with stress and change. I have particular expertise in working with African-American women, men, and families.
