You may feel desperate, alone, and misunderstood. You feel like you are floating in the bottom of a lake and cannot see the light above you. Everyday, you feel like you are just going through the motions. If this describes you, then I may be the therapist for you. In my nearly twenty years of experience, I have helped people like you reach their potential and achieve the recovery that they needed. There is no set system or quick fix as others may promise, but I will walk down the road with you. My primary focus is on helping you deal with ambiguity. Often our thoughts and subsequently what we teach ourselves becomes rigid and fairly black and white. Using a pragmatic and authentic approach to therapy I try and help you be okay with things that are beyond your control and work with you to establish yourself as the protagonist in your own story. This is primarily accomplished through conversation and allowing you the client to guide the therapy in the direction it needs to go.
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker with over 14 years of experience working as a clinician, therapist , and crisis interventionist. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, substance use problems, psychosis, and ADHD. I would like to clarify my expertise does not include eating disorders, or pornography addiction, although I do understand some of the symptoms and causes. AGAIN, NO PORN ADDICTIONS, COUPLES COUNSELING, OR MARRIAGE COUNSELING.
My therapy style is genuine and solution focused.. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach is dialectical behavioral based with strengths perspective and motivational interviewing. Any treatment plan to meet your needs will be collaborative, timely, and with measurable goals. Usually following the "S.M.A.R.T." goal format. Specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and timely.
I have worked extensively in crisis intervention in the agency and on the streets, in hospitals, and in mental health courts and case management agencies, and have managed in this capacity. I also have many years experience related to substance use disorders and have worked as a therapist utilizing primarily Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as my main approach as well as utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy . These tools can be modified in a number of ways to help clients achieve their goals .
Regardless of any experience, upbringing, current, or past situation, everyone has choices they can make that best serves them and the life they want to live.
I look forward to working with you!

Hello I am Aida Sek, LCSW, a bilingual trauma psychotherapist, holding licenses in the states of Florida, Virginia and Colorado. Some of my specialties include trauma, addiction and codependency recovery, PTSD resolution through EMDR, perinatal mental health, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, conflict resolution, multicultural and adjustment issues. Being born in Colombia, made me understand the value and importance of cultural, ethnic, and varied backgrounds, and recognize the multitude of strengths born from these areas. Specific to my practice, each client is met with a sacredness regarding their culture and background, holding the client in unconditional positive regard.
I have been working with individuals struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder, substance use, sexual addiction, and mental health challenges for the past ten years. I have a real heart to walk alongside you to encourage, support, and empower you to move forward in your recovery needs. Hi! I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I received my Masters from LeTourneau University and have been practicing for 4 years. I work with adult clients living with self-esteem issues, anxiety, depression, and anger. The goal is to provide a safe space for clients to openly talk, gain self-awareness, and identify ways to overcome their challenges.
First of all, I love what I do and to witness the positive changes clients make in their lives as a result of choosing therapy to help them accomplish what they want. Often the goal is to achieve symptom relief so as to not be overwhelmed by anxiety, mood disorders or be better able to manage the challenges of ADHD. Sometimes there is not a specific outcome identified but a need for ongoing support for dealing with life transitions or difficult people. Sometimes clients use therapy as a confidential sounding board where they can talk to an objective outsider about situations and sort out their perspective. I offer various ways to see and respond to situations that might otherwise not be considered. Your opinion as a client is the most important one and I will also honestly provide mine when asked for. I believe therapy can actually be something that you can look forward to and an opportunity to learn new skills to use long after you discontinue, and we can even have some fun and laughs along the journey.

Welcome!
I came to this work a little differently than some. After spending 16 years in my first career, I found myself sitting across from a therapist for the first time. That experience changed my life. It gave me not only a new perspective on myself but also a deep desire to help others in the same way. So, I made a big leap: I went back to school to become a therapist myself.
Since then, it’s been over two decades of meaningful, often humbling work. I spent 21 years in community-based mental health and substance abuse treatment, and I was fortunate to serve as a contracted therapy provider for the Department of Defense—work that gave me a profound respect for the strength and resilience of those who serve. I’ve also worked in private group practice and provided therapy in intensive outpatient programs in Canada, gaining experience with a wide range of individuals and challenges along the way.
In November 2021, I opened my own private practice. It’s been an incredible privilege to support individuals and couples in this more personal setting, and I truly value the relationships I build with each client. If you’re considering therapy, I want you to know you're not alone—and change really is possible.

Understanding unhealthy behaviors, frustrations with life, and/or unsuccessful efforts to cope can help reveal the obstacles that may block your path to growth and desired outcomes.

Why do we explore? So you can live a life YOU want to live!
** I do not provide forensically-focused clinical services for individuals/couples involved in active litigation, divorce proceedings, or child custody disputes, nor do I provide court-ordered evaluations or expert testimony**
Many of my clients are the people everyone depends on—high achievers, caregivers, professionals, students, and young adults who appear to have it all together while privately struggling with anxiety, chronic stress, burnout, overthinking, perfectionism, and people-pleasing. They often spend so much energy caring for others that they lose sight of their own needs. Setting boundaries, quieting the inner critic, managing overwhelming emotions, or simply slowing down can feel difficult or even guilt-inducing. Over time, they may feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, and stuck in survival mode.
I specialize in helping adolescents and adults navigate anxiety, depression, burnout, emotional overwhelm, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, life transitions, and chronic stress. Whether you're consumed by racing thoughts, struggling with panic or constant worry, caught in unhealthy relationship patterns, or feeling like you're never “doing enough,” therapy can help you regain balance, confidence, and a stronger sense of control. Together, we explore what is fueling these patterns and develop meaningful, lasting change.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and results-oriented. Using evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I help clients develop practical coping skills they can carry into everyday life. Therapy with me is not only about processing what feels difficult; it's also about building resilience, strengthening self-trust, and helping you feel more equipped to navigate life's challenges with clarity and confidence.
You don't have to keep carrying everything on your own. If you're ready to feel less overwhelmed, more grounded, and more connected to yourself, I'd be honored to support you on that journey.
