Hi, I'm a therapist with over thirty years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families and historically getting positive results. I tend to work with families with special members such as teens and seniors. I have always worked with teens as it seemed to be a population others found difficult, but I liked the challenge. Now that I am a senior, I better understand the needs of our demographic. I tend to utilize a Family Systems approach which sees the individual in a family context as the majority has grown up in some form of family, whether related by blood or not. I've also taught Marriage and Family Therapy through what is now Drexel University's Family Therapy Program and have offered professional Supervision as a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. By working with the client in a collaborative, goal setting manner, faster more positive results seem to be achieved.

You already know something is not working. Maybe it shows up in your relationships, your stress, or patterns you cannot seem to shake. I help you name it plainly and work on changing it. With a background spanning children, teens, and adults across individual, group, and family settings, I bring a direct, honest approach I call caring confrontation: pointing to what is not serving you, then working with you on what comes next. We all have these things to look at. I am no exception. If that sounds like what you need, I would love to connect.
I'm a grateful and spiritually oriented counselor who loves his work. I've a passion for helping people who have been mistreated, and those who are in a love relationship that is struggling due to life stress and in need of solid relationship education. Not much is life as valuable as the primary relationships of our life, and the discovery of how to find the answers to the big questions of life.
I have worked in the treatment since i was 36 and have 38 years of experience. My early experience was in the drug and alcohol and relapse prevention field. During that time i attended the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland, Ohio where I took 4 years of intense training. This lead me to find that therapy is not a method for me to figure out the client but a means for the client to gain greater self-awareness in facing their own life aspirations and struggles. I place focus on clients’ somatic awareness, especially breath, so being more in their body so they can try on new physical and intellectual styles in facing their world. I have a lot of knowledge about what is called the 12 step process and have melded together spirituality and religion in my own life. Prior to being a counselor/ therapist i taught school, painted steel bridges and other structures, and was a machinist at a large steel company, that like the many in our area have since closed their shops.
