What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions. We will then learn what has brought you into therapy, and therapist will review confidentiality, limitations of therapy, and what to expect through the process of therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

The therapeutic approach that I use is a Wellness Model of Counseling, emphasizing strengths as well as personal choices and the importance of daily decision-making. A Solution Focused Therapy approach, focuses on solutions to problems and discovering the strengths a person has. A Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach can be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, eating disorders, and PTSD to name a few; and Motivational Interviewing to empower my clients.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

A CBT session, the therapist uses a structured, goal-oriented approach to help clients identify and change their negative or unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviors by exploring the connection between them. CBT also incorporates the use of homework to practice new skills.

Compassion Focused

In a Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) session, the therapist uses techniques like compassionate imagery, mindful awareness, and compassionate reasoning to help clients cultivate compassion for themselves and others, addressing shame, self-criticism, and promoting emotional well-being.

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

In an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) session, the therapist acts as a guide, helping clients (individuals or couples) identify and explore their emotions, understand underlying attachment needs, and improve relationship patterns through empathy, validation, and active intervention.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

In culturally sensitive therapy, I create a safe space for clients by acknowledging and respecting their cultural background, actively listening to their perspectives, and adapting my approach to better meet their needs.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)

In an ERP therapy session, I would guide the client to gradually confront feared stimuli or situations while preventing compulsive behaviors, aiming to reduce anxiety and obsessive thoughts.
