My name is Zoe Yeaton and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in central Pennsylvania. I have been working in the mental health field for nearly 14 years, with the last 6 years being in a therapist role. I work with adults in need of support with managing stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma symptoms. I am client-centered, meaning that I want your goals to be the guiding foundation for your therapeutic journey. I use a psychodynamic approach to help you identify and explore patterns and events in your life that have an impact on your overall well-being. While holding space to process life experiences, we can utilize a toolbox of practical coping skills to help manage emotional health.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will focus on two things: determining if I am a good fit for your needs and gathering background information to help plot a therapy course. I will ask about your past therapy and mental health experiences, current stressors and symptoms, and goals you might have for yourself already. Feel free to express any thoughts or concerns you might have about therapy. I am here to help, and I want this process to work for you!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I have been told by multiple clients that I create a warm, kind, and comforting presence for them. I consider this to a be a great strength to be able to help people feel connected and contained when they are at their most vulnerable.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults who are managing stress, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Whether you’re navigating a difficult stage of life, building a self-care plan, or working through trauma, I am here to provide an empathetic, judgment-free space to process and create a plan of action. I have experience working with clients of various gender identities, sexual orientations, spiritual affiliations, racial identities, etc. I consider my work to have an antiracist, social justice, trauma-informed lens.

My treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I use this modality when I notice client talk of wanting change in their life but struggling to make progress. I use techniques to listen, support and explore barriers to change, while formulating actionable steps to make progress. This can be a helpful approach for people who are looking for tangible differences in their daily life.

Psychodynamic

If clients are wanting to make more sense of their life experience, then it can be very helpful for them to take a psychodynamic approach. By exploring their current situations as well as their past experiences, they can come to identify traits and patterns that they can work on to change their experiences moving forward. In some cases, simply processing these experiences with a nonjudgmental listener can be enough.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I like to use DBT skills in an as-needed basis, depending on what is coming up in session. Whether it is helpful to focus on mindfulness to help with shifting perspective, or using some coping skills to help manage distress, I find that DBT can be very helpful in addressing depression and anxiety symptoms.
