(she/her)
I have been working in the field of mental health for the past two years. I have experience working with Veterans and First Responders as well as those struggling with substance use concerns. I utilize an eclectic approach to cater to each client's unique needs. I have experience working with a wide variety of client issues including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and various mood disorders. I continue to maintain focus on specialized training that allows me to continue to treat Veterans and First Responders.
Our first session will include questions aimed at gaining background information and a better understanding of each client. I allow each client to tell their own story by utilizing active listening skills and I make a point to take mental notes about client's story in order to prevent them from feeling like they have to re-tell their story each session.
I am very upfront about guidance provided and insight given. I often take a very honest approach with each client so that are aware of the direction of treatment.
I work well with clients who have motivation to set and meet individualized goals. I firmly believe that each client is the expert of their experiences and allow them to steer the direction of their treatment while providing insight and guidance along the way.
