Tutu provides a comfortable client centered environment. During the initial session, Tutu and the individual would work together to complete intake paperwork and biopsychosocial assessment, complete evidence based-disganoic measurement tools and review preliminary diagnosis. Additionally, Tutu and the individual would discuss the frequency and schedule of future sessions. Tutu helps individuals explore and establish mental health goals and life goals. Tutu and the individual would set small objects as a vehicle to achievement of larger or primary goals. If clinically appropriate, Tutu provides agreed upon therapy tasks or skills for the client to practice or use outside of therapy. If clinically appropriate, Tutu and clients may utilize worksheets or workbooks. Individuals report this approach helps them achieve therapeutic goals and learn concert skills. Drawing from a diverse array of educational, professional and life experience, Tutu use a blend of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, psychodynamic therapy, play therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Behavioral Medications and strength based approaches.
Tutu has always been described as nonjudgemental, compassionate, relatable and skilled at building rapport with individuals. Tutu has the ability to recognize patterns in individuals' narratives and apply psychological theory to them, and provide structure or none-structure interventions.
