My name is Rachelle Cavicchia and I have 10+ years of therapeutic experience counseling adolescents and adults via group, family, couples and individual therapy. I have a passion for working with clients, helping them become more empowered to enable their self-change. It’s a great feeling to truly know you’re not a victim of your circumstances. Though change is hard, it is possible.
I hope to build a positive rapport with my clients, where they feel safe and respected. Additionally, I want clients to feel more empowered and in control of whatever challenges they are facing.
I use an integrative therapeutic approach because I do not think one style works for everyone. CBT and DBT are included in the approaches I utilize.
I have a significant amount of experience working with adolescents. I have worked both within and outside the school setting. I understand all the "moving parts" or stressors that affect adolescents. I have been able to work with schools while in the LPC role and have also been a guidance counselor who worked with outside professionals. I have experience conducting family therapy sessions and believe strongly in its benefits. It is tough to get families started, however, when paired with individual therapy, it yields a stronger result/change for the individuals and family. I will be conducting a new adolescent DBT weekly group. I will also be conducting a "Women's of Young Children" weekly group. Areas of focus will change in this group bimonthly (e.g. autism, adhd, learning disabilities).
