Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. I'm a licensed clinical social worker with over twenty years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse populations—including veterans, children, and women—each of whom has shaped my understanding of resilience and healing.
Over the past decade, my practice has evolved to focus on adults (18+) navigating anxiety and depression. I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey, and I’m honored to walk alongside clients as they explore their inner world, build emotional strength, and rediscover joy.
If you're considering starting or continuing your mental health journey, I welcome you with compassion, curiosity, and hope. Together, we’ll create a space for growth, insight, and meaningful change
If you are looking for support on your journey of self-discovery or dealing with some stressors, I would love to help! I enjoy working with individuals who may be struggling and need an empathetic ear. I believe everyone can improve their sense of well-being with some support. Some things I enjoy include spending time with my friends and family, visiting the beach and mountains, and doing arts and crafts.
I am what I would say a non traditional kind of clinician. I will engage with you in a way that works for you, I am not the expert on you and want to walk along side of you and help you in a way that works for you. I will also push and prod at those tough spots so that we can work on finding out what is happening for you and we can work together to make a difference with your needs.

Do you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you? Therapy can provide a safe and supportive space to begin untangling the past and reclaiming your present. Everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered to heal. If you're ready to take that first step, I’m here to walk alongside you.
I’m originally from Seattle, WA, and now live in Alexandria, VA. I’m an Army veteran, a mom to two sons (ages 11 and 18), and I share my home with a chocolate tabby cat. I’ve worked in the mental health field for eight years—six as a psychotherapist, one as a substance abuse counselor, and one in a psychiatric inpatient setting. Currently, I provide telehealth counseling and am licensed in both North Carolina and Virginia.
Personality-wise, I bring a mix of motivation and energy, balanced with an easygoing and nonjudgmental approach.
Hi, I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LISW-CP) based in North Carolina and South Carolina. I earned my Master’s from Simmons University and have been practicing for the past 8 years. Reaching out for support takes a lot of courage and curiosity—and I want to acknowledge that just by being here, you’re already taking an important step.
Life has a way of creating all kinds of transitions. Some can feel like waves of excitement and full of growth and opportunity, while others feel overwhelming, unclear, scary, or just plain hard. I work with people navigating many types of life changes, including (and not limited to):
grief and loss, caregiving burnout, medical diagnoses, changes in independence, identity exploration, retirement, separation or divorce
And with those changes often come things like anxiety, depression, loneliness, or feeling disconnected from yourself. My approach is holistic, somatic informed, and person-centered. That means we’ll focus on your strengths, your body and mind, your story, and what matters most to you as we work together to bring more balance, purpose, and joy into your life.
You don’t have to go through it alone. I’m here to support you.
My passion is to work with those who have struggled with the challenges of life; trauma, addiction, relationship issues, mood disorders, grief, attachment, career issues or any stress contributing to anxiety. They may have sought therapy in the past and have become discouraged, for whatever reason. The foundation of therapy is the therapeutic alliance. When one suffers various disorders, life becomes dull and motivation to live according to one's values instead of one's fears is threatened. It is critical that the therapist be attuned to the worldview of the client to facilitate healing, self acceptance and self compassion. Pain is inevitable while suffering is optional.

Hi, my name is Luz, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I worked as a teacher for over 15 years before making the journey into a community mental health career. I have experience in mobile crisis response, trauma, forensic mental health concerns.
To explain who I am as a therapist, I reflect back to my role as an educator. In the classroom, there was a movement for the teacher to be less of a “sage on the stage” (teacher-centered approach) and more of a “guide on the side” (student-centered). To me, therapy is a lesson plan for a learning experience. It's a guide to develop what the client needs to learn in order to cope with whatever barriers are showing up in the client's life, whether that barrier is an internal issue, such as self-image, or how to cope with work stress.
My therapeutic perspective is to provide empathetic, non-judgmental, compassionate guidance and support in an atmosphere of respect and safety while allowing clients to be the experts of their lives, much like “a co-pilot, a sous chef, or an assistant manager” of a client-therapist relationship. I use solution-focused elements to help move toward desired goals, cognitive behavioral techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts, and motivational interviewing to help gain understanding and clarity. Outside of traditional therapy, I enjoy the practices of mindfulness, guided meditation, aromatherapy, and Reiki.
Finding a therapist that's the right fit can be a challenging task, but taking that first step towards a healthier you is worth it. I look forward to working with you to help break down those barriers and make progress in areas that most matter to you.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina. I have over 14 years of experience in the mental health field, and I have worked as a clinician, clinical supervisor and school counselor. I work well with people of all ages and backgrounds. I provide individual, group and family therapy to children, adolescents and adults. My theoretical approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy; however, adjustments and approaches are made to tailor to the needs of each client.
I am dedicated to helping people heal holistically from past traumas, anxiety, depression, anger or relationship challenges. I use a very effective treatment modality called Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help people heal from traumatic memories, negative beliefs about themselves, or past situations in one's life that have caused them emotional pain. In addition, I teach people how to manage their thoughts and emotions using mindfulness, mind/body, meditation practices, and cognitive behavioral methods. For those who are interested in healing their mental health naturally through changing their life style habits, I have training in how proper nutrition, sleep and exercise can help improve one's brain health, and therefore improve their mental health.
