Hello, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I am Licensed in the State of Tennessee and North Carolina. I have been practicing as a counselor for the past 4 years however I have been providing counseling services as a Military Chaplain for 20 years and have retired from the Military after over 30 years of service. I see individuals, couples, and families from all walks of life going through many difficult situations. I have walked with them through times of grief, anxiety, loss, separation, suicidal thoughts, etc. I have seen how choosing the right therapist can help a person get through, from the person's perspective, some of life’s hardest times.
Do you struggle with feeling bad about yourself, developing and /or maintaining healthy relationships with others? Do you feel down, depressed, feeling you let yourself or others down? Do you experience feelings of anxiety, stress, or trauma? Are these concerns impacting you at home, work, or other places?
Seeking therapy can be scary, however, you have made the right decision. I believe individuals are the "experts on themselves" and possess the ability to make the desired positive change in their lives.
In the session, we will utilize a Person Center Approach consisting of meeting the individual were they are, actively listening, providing support, encouragement, and validation, as well as utilizing Evidence -Based Treatment Modalities ( such Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Person Centered Approach, and Psychoeducation) Supportive Therapy, Stress Management, and Anger Management.
Together, we will work collaboratively to treat the whole person and empower the person to find their way forward.

I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, coping with grief, coping with loss, & depression. I also have experience working with coping with life changes. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
Are you feeling overwhelmed by your thoughts and emotions or grappling with uncertainty about how to manage them? It’s entirely understandable to notice patterns in your thoughts and behaviors that no longer serve you. If you’re ready to embark on a journey of meaningful change, I’m here to walk alongside you and offer my support at every step.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), and a Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technician, I bring a wealth of experience from diverse clinical settings, including crisis response, detox facilities, and both individual and group therapy.
My approach is compassionate and integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT). Together, we will work to understand how your thoughts and emotions influence your actions. With CBT, we can gently identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns that may be holding you back. MI will provide a space for you to explore and address any ambivalence about change, helping you uncover your motivation for growth. Through SFT, we will focus on your unique strengths and practical solutions that resonate with your goals.
In our work together, we will explore both current challenges and past experiences to gain insight into how they shape your life today. I am deeply committed to supporting the holistic healing of your mind, body, and spirit, tailoring my approach to honor your unique journey.
You don’t have to navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, or everyday stress alone. Wherever you find yourself on this path—whether you’re seeking help for the first time or returning for deeper work—you are taking a brave and vital step.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy doesn’t have to feel like sitting in a stiff chair while someone silently nods at you. I bring both professionalism and a sense of humor into the room, because sometimes laughter really is the best coping skill .I’ve worked with teens, college students, and adults for the last 7 years. Some common concerns I have helped navigate are stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationships, and the big messy in-betweens that don’t necessarily always fit neatly into a diagnosis.
Helping Thoughtful People Get Unstuck and Move Forward
Hi, I'm Donavon.
I’m a counselor with over 20 years of clinical experience and nearly 30 years working in helping professions. Over the years, clients have described me as encouraging, supportive, compassionate, and understanding.
One of the things I do especially well is helping people understand how the challenges they face today developed over time. That doesn’t mean spending weeks reliving the past. Instead, we focus on identifying patterns that contribute to anxiety, stress, ADHD-related struggles, relationship challenges, or feeling stuck, and then developing practical strategies that help you move forward.
My goal is to help people gain insight, develop better coping strategies, and begin making meaningful progress in their lives.
If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or uncertain about the direction of your life, therapy can be a place to slow down, gain clarity, and begin moving forward again.
I am a licensed mental health therapist and private practice owner dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with clarity, resilience, and self-compassion. I specialize in supporting clients who are dealing with stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LISW-CP) based in North and South Carolina. I earned my Master’s from Simmons University and have been practicing since 2018. Reaching out for support takes a lot of courage and curiosity—and I want to acknowledge that just by being here, you’re already taking an important step.
Life has a way of creating all kinds of transitions. Some can feel like waves of excitement and full of growth and opportunity, while others feel overwhelming, unclear, scary, or just plain hard. You don’t have to go through it alone. I’m here to support you.
