(she/her)
Hello. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker living in North Carolina, but born and raised in Virginia. I am licensed in both North Carolina and Virginia. I received my Master of Social Work degree from Norfolk State University. I have 18+ years of experience working with a diverse population. I work with clients ages 18 and older who want to work through life's challenges in order to improve their quality of life. Thank you for considering me to be your psychotherapist.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions to build rapport, then discuss the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked with people from diverse backgrounds over the years, I've developed skills and techniques that are successful in helping you (a) identify the root cause of your challenges and (b) create a tailored plan that leads to measurable progress.
I work best with adults (ages 18–69) who are navigating meaningful life challenges and are ready to gain clarity, healing, and direction. My ideal clients are individuals experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, and elevated stress, as well as those facing significant life transitions—whether personal, professional, or relational. Many of the individuals I serve are professionals or high-functioning adults who may appear to “have it all together” on the outside but are internally struggling with chronic stress, overwhelm, burnout, or uncertainty about their next steps. They often seek support with stress management, career transitions, and improving work-life balance while maintaining their responsibilities and roles. I also work with clients who are exploring identity-related questions, navigating professional or personal transitions, managing health-related stressors, and addressing relationship concerns. These individuals are often thoughtful and self-aware, yet may feel stuck, emotionally drained, or unsure how to move forward. My approach is especially well-suited for those who are motivated for change and open to self-reflection. I provide a supportive, structured space where clients can process challenges, develop effective stress management skills, build emotional resilience, and move toward a more balanced, fulfilling life.
Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I've used Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for years in working with my clients who have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety. CBT is a type of psychotherapy in which negative patterns of thought about yourself and the world are challenged in order to alter unwanted and negative behavior patterns. CBT has worked in treating mood disorders.
Psychoeducation
I believe when we know better we do better and that knowledge is power. This is why I use Psychoeducation in working with all of my clients. Psychoeducation is a therapeutic intervention that combines psychotherapy and education. Psychoeducation is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention that provides information and support to better understand and cope with illness.
Trauma Informed Care
In my 18+ years of experience, I have worked with clients who have at some point in their lives experienced trauma. As a therapist recognition of ones trauma is very important in understanding how they see and experience the world. Trauma-informed care is an approach in the human service field that acknowledges the presence of trauma symptoms and the role trauma may play in an individual's life. Trauma-informed care requires understanding that the trauma people experience in the past can negatively impact their current life. It involves accounting for clients’ trauma and its impact on their behavior, mental health, and ability to engage in treatment.
