What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

We will talk about general use of the platform, HIPAA and HITECH requirements. We will gain a better understanding of expectations we have of each other and the parameters of messaging and other resources in the platform. We will answers for clarificaton and set the goals of the next session.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength is the ability to listen empathically and without judgment. My niche is being able to sit with my clients where they are in life and facilitate the change they wish to achieve. I am a trained EMDR provider and am certified by Evergreen Certification as a Grief Informed Professional, Clinical Telemental Health Provider, and in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I like to use it to challenge negative and anxious thoughts and to challenge assumptions made from those thoughts. Starting from birth humans are influenced by what they perceive and take in from everything in their surroundings. Their early experiences grow and develop into beliefs about themselves, their world, and their likely future. These beliefs affect their perceptions of thoughts, emotions, behavior and bodily sensations as they move through every aspect of their life. At any point there can be a disconnect affecting those various aspects of input and skew the view, thinking, and outcome. These disconnects can be corrected with support and cognitive processing to improve the outcome.

Couples Counseling

I am trained in Gottman Institute 7 principles, counseling where an affair is involved, and using the four horsemen to teach coaching children. Communication determines how well we exchange communication with others and take in others' communications. I use several similar examples of communication including assertive, passive, and passive-aggressive methods so that we can become good listeners and accurately and empathically state our wants, needs, and emotions.

EMDR

I was trained more than 20 years ago and use it for many purposes included those listed in the EMDR Client Handout which can be found in PDF format on the internet. I use it with adults, teens and children if appropriate. I am also trained in the chronic pain protocol and substance protocols of EMDR.

Grief Therapy

I have trained with PESI in grief therapy and with EMDR. I continue to train in grief therapy to maintain learned skills and adapt them as research provides new information.

Imago Relationship Theory

I am trained in Imago, Gottman, Chapman/5 love languages, and love and logic methods. I use them as needed in my practice.
