My path to counseling has been shaped by more than 20 years of experience working in
universities and nonprofits across the U.S., including two decades in academic medicine and
biomedical research administration. As a former biomedical researcher and a leader in administrative research operations, I understand the pressures of high-achievement environments, the complexity of
navigating institutional systems, and the emotional toll that can come with careers in science,
healthcare, and technology. This unique perspective allows me to connect deeply with students,
academics, and professionals working in demanding fields.

Welcome. I know reaching out for support can feel vulnerable, and I believe therapy should be a space where you feel safe, seen, and understood. My goal is to provide a compassionate and nonjudgmental environment where you can openly explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences at your own pace.
I work with individuals who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem, or feeling emotionally overwhelmed. Many of my clients are people who have spent years caring for others while neglecting their own needs and are now ready to begin prioritizing their healing and personal growth.
My approach is integrative and personalized because I believe every person’s story and healing journey is unique. I incorporate supportive therapy, trauma-focused care, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, and narrative therapy to help clients better understand themselves, develop healthier coping strategies, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.
Together, we will work to identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, process painful experiences with care and intention, build emotional resilience, and reconnect with your strengths and sense of self. I believe healing happens not only through insight, but also through feeling empowered, supported, and genuinely accepted.
Whether you are navigating a difficult season of life or seeking deeper self-understanding and growth, I welcome the opportunity to walk alongside you in your journey toward healing and balance.
Are you the one who keeps everything together for everyone else but inside, you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of yourself? Maybe you appear confident on the outside, yet privately struggle with overthinking, self-doubt, or feeling stuck in patterns you can’t seem to break.
I work with clients navigating anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Whether you're adjusting to a new career, ending or redefining a relationship, setting boundaries, or simply trying to feel more confident in who you are, therapy can offer a space where you don’t have to have it all figured out.
With over five years of experience, I provide compassionate, client-centered therapy in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. My approach is trauma-informed and grounded in evidence-based practices, while always tailored to your unique needs and goals.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of therapy that enables you to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. Hi! I am a clinically licensed psychotherapist who works with adults in the areas of anxiety, caregiving, self-esteem, life transitions, and career coaching. I earned my Master’s of Science in social work from Columbia University and developed my own private practice where I use an integrative approach to therapy and evidence-based modalities. By providing a safe and nurturing environment, my goal will be to help you explore your needs and goals.
I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New Jersey. I received my Masters from Rutgers University in 2007. I have been a clinical therapist for over a decade.

I'm licensed in both NJ and PA. I have over 20 years experience helping adults feeling overwhelmed, alone, stressed, sad or worried. I offer support as we work through feelings of anxiety, depression, isolation, and stress related to work, life changes, loss, transitions, identity, health challenges, family and relationship issues. With a warm, empathetic, inclusive approach, you will feel supported as we navigate the challenges in relationships (colleagues, friends, marriage, significant others, family) as well as from caregiving responsibilities (to children, spouse, and aging parents.) All sessions are virtual, in the comfort of your own home. Reach out to me and I will support you through the challenges of life.
I’m a trauma‑informed, somatic and Brainspotting therapist who supports adults who are high‑functioning on the outside but carrying a lot internally. My work centers communities of color, caregivers, helping professionals, and anyone who has spent years being “the strong one” with very few places to land. In our sessions, you don’t have to perform or hold everything together.
I use a calm, attuned, body‑based approach that helps you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and release what your nervous system has been holding. Whether you’re navigating trauma, grief, burnout, or identity‑based stress, I offer a space that is culturally responsive, collaborative, and grounded in real healing—not just talking about it.
If you’re ready to feel more regulated, more connected, and more like yourself again, I’m here to walk with you.
Seeking therapy can be daunting and the process to find the right therapist can take time. I strive to provide an empathic and warm environment for my clients and work with culturally sensitive approach in mind. Building the therapeutic relationship is important so I welcome you to book an assessment with me to see if you feel I am the right fit for you.
I work from a person centered approach and prefer to spend the first two sessions getting an idea of my client's background, pertinent life experiences and what brought them to therapy. From there I use Cognitive Behavior Therapy and use Solution Focused techniques to help my client work towards their long and short term goals.

I also have experience supporting adolescents with ADHD and autism and helping their parents manage the challenges that come with raising a neurodiverse child. In addition, I work with adults who are challenged by ADHD, autism, anxiety and depression. My therapeutic style integrates evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT) and emotionally focused techniques, helping clients build insight, strengthen relationships and create lasting change.
As a neurodivergent Black woman living with a chronic illness and mother of three adult children, two of whom identify with the LGBTQ+ commmunity, I am always interested in the deeper question people carry about their lives. Many of the individuals I work with are thoughtful, capable people who have spent years showing up for others, meeting expectations, and doing what seemed like the responsible thing to do. At some point, though, many begin to notice a quiet sense that something no longer fits.
My work centers around helping people slow down enough to understand what is actually happening beneath that feeling. Together we look at the patterns, experiences, and internal narratives that shape how you see yourself and the choices available to you. From that place, people often begin to rediscover a clearer sense of who they are and what direction their lives might take moving forward.
I am especially drawn to working with adults navigating identity shifts, relationship transitions, and moments in life where the path forward is no longer obvious.
Hello, my name is Sergio and I practice a Humanistic approach which focuses on an individual's inherent and continued personal growth. My goal is to provide a caring, knowledgeable, and non-judgmental environment where you can feel safe, understood, and supported as you move toward healing and growth.
I would describe my style as validating, supportive, and down to earth. Clients often share that they feel comfortable being their authentic selves with me, which is one of my highest priorities in the therapy space. I bring both professional expertise and lived experience, creating a balance of humility and wisdom. While I don’t claim to know everything, I work hard to share what I’ve learned while remaining open and collaborative.
I view therapy as a relationship that parallels the important connections in your life. I will meet you where you are, get to know you on your terms, and walk alongside you as you move toward growth. My goal is to provide a safe environment where you feel respected, supported, and challenged to become the best version of yourself.

Hi, I’m Jelysa—founder of Take 2 Counseling, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, wife, and mom of two. Being a therapist is a huge part of who I am, but so is my family. Juggling real-life responsibilities, caring for others, and trying to stay grounded in the middle of it all gives me a deep understanding of the daily pressures many of us face—especially young women who are trying to find their footing in a fast-paced world. Growing up as the daughter of a therapist, I was surrounded by empathy, connection, and emotional awareness from an early age. My mom showed me that healing doesn’t come from being perfect—it comes from being present, making space for growth, and learning through our mistakes. She continues to be my role model for resilience and restoration.
As a licensed therapist of over 15 years, I view my role as guiding individuals along a journey of self-discovery and growth. I have a passion for helping people conquer their past-trauma, family issues, personal struggles-and move into a free and peaceful future. I assist people in gaining insight into their issues and finding solutions to their problems by providing direction, encouragement, support, and hope.

I received my Master of Education with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling from William Paterson University. I take a collaborative, integrative approach, drawing from evidence-based practices such as CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based work. YOU can call me Cathy. In so many ways, there is still a stigma around receiving mental health services. For some, their previous experience (or experiences of those close to them) has made it difficult to reach out for help. I’m here to tell you the field of mental health has evolved, much like I have as a psychotherapist throughout my career. During my studies at Monmouth University (2012-2018) where I earned my BA in Psychology and MS in Mental Health Counseling, I learned to pride myself on being authentic with clients, in and out of session. I am an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). Over the last almost decade, I have worked in various professional mental health settings, including intensive outpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs, community-based settings, and private practice.
I have been working individuals with behavioral and/or mental health challenges for 20 years. My experiences have continued to inform my clinical approach which includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as Solution-Focused approaches. My true strength lies in my ability to forge quality therapeutic relationships with my clients. This allows me to understand my clients' needs in a manner that informs how I will use different aspects of my clinical approach to seamlessly formulate a pathway to achieving treatment goals. Clients tell me that they enjoy how much I interact with them in their sessions and use real-life examples to illustrate ideas, strategies and skills.
For over a decade, I've immersed myself in the realm of mental health care, where I meet my clients in the place they are in their emotional/psychological struggles. I am passionate about making a lasting positive impact in each and every client's life. To that end, I obtained a bachelor's, a master’s and a doctorate degrees in psychology.
My therapeutic approach is as diverse as the stories I encounter, tailored to resonate with each person’s unique journey.
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working with adults, teens, and parents who are tired of anxiety, intrusive thoughts, emotional overwhelm, or relationship patterns running their lives. My approach is structured but human. I integrate CBT, DBT, ERP, and somatic work to create real, measurable change — not just insight. Therapy with me is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping you build emotional resilience, nervous system regulation, and clarity so you can move through your life with more confidence and less fear.
Life can be extremely busy and trying at times, especially now with all of the stressful changes in our lives, and we can feel as though we have too many roles to fill at once. This can create anxiety, depression, stress, and family issues. Having someone to help work through these difficulties can be extremely beneficial. I have many years of experience providing counseling services to children, adolescents, adults, and families who have needed assistance with child behavioral issues, parenting, family conflict, parent-child conflict, relationship issues, stress related to life transitions, self-injurious behaviors, depression, anxiety, infertility stress, and trauma. I like to build a good rapport with the client, sometimes through humor, to help them feel comfortable sharing their stories with me.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in New York and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey. I have over 20 years of experience working with individuals and families in foster care and program settings. I am a daughter, single mother, sister and friend. I am a clinician who values and honors diversity. I offer a judgement free zone where empathy and confidentiality are at the forefront. I value therapeutic intervention, as I too have been a client. I know the impact of a trained clinician and a committed client. My style is collaborative and client-centered. My goal is to help clients create lasting change and a deeper sense of personal wellness. Peace begins with caring for your mental health. I look forward to supporting my clients.

I'm Angela, an African-American, queer clinical social work therapist with over 25 years of experience in various treatment settings. I enjoy working with college-age through senior adults who want to grow, improve their mental health, or are experiencing a wide variety of distress. My work with clients is integrative, insight-oriented, and grounded in a cognitive-behavioral framework with a trauma-focused lens.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey who has a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and Human Services, with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been working with children and families for 25 years, mostly in the in-home setting. I also have a strong crisis background having worked in an Emergency Room for 11 years where I assessed and provided therapy to the suicidal/homicidal patients, as well as the chronically and persistently mentally ill. As a part of both settings, I have a very clear understanding of addiction and the dual role it can often play.
My name is Gerson Lovera. I am licensed clinician with 9 years of experience working side by side with clients. I have a background in cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care. I work with individuals and couples experiencing interpersonal issues, life transitions, anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD and trauma. Hi! I am a caring, warm and friendly person who strives to put clients at ease when coming to sessions, especially when so many other difficulties may be going on for you! My goal is to give you the space to process things that are coming up and find the best next step to reach your goals, no matter what that might be! I'm ready to find realistic and attainable solutions, and go back to the drawing board to help you find the things that will actually work for you!
Hi, I'm Katie, a licensed clinical social worker dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion and curiosity. I use evidence-based approaches like CBT and Strengths-Based Therapy to support clients in building resilience, improving emotional well-being, and achieving meaningful personal goals. My style is collaborative, supportive, and focused on creating a safe space where you can feel heard and empowered.
I work with individuals navigating trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, impulsive behaviors, anger, anxiety, and depression. Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, and are looking for clarity or a deeper understanding of themselves. I welcome adults of all identities and backgrounds, as well as couples who want to strengthen their connection, communicate more openly, and move through conflict with greater care.
My style is warm, thoughtful, and collaborative. I’m here to help you transform difficult or adverse experiences into opportunities for insight, resilience, and growth. Together, we explore patterns in your emotions, relationships, and experiences, and begin to understand what’s underneath them. From there, we can create meaningful, lasting change in a way that feels authentic to you.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’re not sure what to expect. I focus on creating a space where you can show up as you are, without pressure, and move at a pace that feels right for you.
If you’re reading this, you’re probably carrying something heavy — and you may have been carrying it longer than you should have had to. I’m glad you’re here.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist licensed in both New York and New Jersey, and I work with adults and couples who are navigating some of life’s most emotionally demanding seasons: parenting stress, relationship strain, depression, ADHD, and the kind of high-functioning exhaustion that doesn’t always look like struggle from the outside but absolutely feels like it.
My approach is relational at its core. I believe that healing rarely happens in isolation — it happens in connection. Before any technique or homework assignment, I prioritize building a therapeutic relationship where you actually feel safe enough to be honest. That foundation isn’t just good therapy etiquette; it’s what makes everything else possible.
From there, I draw on a range of evidence-based frameworks — attachment theory, CBT, DBT, and person-centered approaches — tailoring the work to what you specifically need rather than applying a one-size-fits-all model. Some clients need tools and structure. Others need space to process and be witnessed. Most need both, at different moments.
I’ve worked with many people who came to therapy after putting it off for a long time — sometimes years. What kept them away was often fear: fear of judgment, fear of being misunderstood, or simply not knowing what therapy was supposed to feel like. I take that seriously. My goal from the very first session is to help you feel less alone in what you’re facing, and more capable of moving through it.
You don’t have to have it figured out before you reach out. That’s what we’re here to do together.
I am a non-binary / FtX integrative therapist with 5 years of psychotherapy experience, and over ten years providing supportive services in the mental health field. I typically work with members of gender and sexually marginalized groups (LGBTQ, TGNC, Queer, Poly/CNM, Kinky, etc.), neurodiverse, and chronically ill individuals, as well as their family members and allies.
I have extensive experience supporting individuals experiencing BPD, suicidal ideation, and non-suicidal self injury. First as an intensive case manager working with individuals experiencing severe persistent mental ilness and later as a Certified DBT therapist and skills trainer.
I work from an anti-oppressive, person-centered framework which structures treatment goals around the client's psychosocial needs, values alignment, and broader life goals.
My areas of specialty
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a deep passion for holistic healing and mind-body approaches to emotional wellness. My work blends traditional psychotherapy with integrative methods like EFT, mindfulness, and energy-based practices to support each client’s unique path to healing. I offer a warm, grounded, and nonjudgmental space where you can explore, heal, and grow at your own pace.
I also speak German and am happy to offer sessions in German for those who feel more comfortable expressing themselves in their native language.
