About me

Hi, I’m Chrissy, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 17 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges. I work with a diverse range of clients, including adults, adolescents, first responders, veterans, caregivers, and members of the LGBTQ+ community. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I specialize in treating trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, drawing from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), interpersonal therapy, and couples counseling. Whether you're navigating a life transition, coping with loss, or seeking to strengthen your relationships, I provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and supported. It’s a privilege to walk alongside my clients as they move toward healing, growth, and greater self-understanding.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session with me, we’ll take time to get to know each other and create a comfortable, safe space where you feel heard. I’ll ask you about what brings you to therapy, your background, and what your goals are—there’s no pressure to share more than you’re ready for. This is also a chance for you to ask any questions about how I work and what therapy might look like moving forward. Together, we’ll start to explore what’s most important to you and begin building a plan that fits your needs. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling understood and hopeful about the journey ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my therapeutic approach is that it’s both compassionate and practical. I combine evidence-based methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and interpersonal therapy with a warm, collaborative style that centers your unique experiences and strengths. I believe therapy works best when it’s tailored to you, so I focus on helping you build real skills that you can use in your daily life to manage challenges and improve your relationships. Clients often tell me they appreciate how I create a safe space for honest exploration while also keeping therapy focused and goal oriented. Over the years, I’ve seen many people move from feeling stuck or overwhelmed to gaining clarity, confidence, and meaningful change in their lives. My aim is always to support you in not just coping but thriving.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I’m best positioned to support clients who are ready to explore their experiences with openness and a desire for meaningful change—even if they’re not exactly sure what that change looks like yet. Many of the people I work with are navigating grief, trauma, relationship struggles, or feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, or life transitions. Some come to therapy feeling stuck or disconnected, while others are high-functioning but emotionally exhausted. Whether you're seeking relief, clarity, or deeper self-understanding, I work well with clients who value a thoughtful, collaborative approach and are willing to engage in reflection, honesty, and growth. You don’t have to have it all figured out—just a willingness to start.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I work with you to identify unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that may be contributing to how you're feeling. Together, we explore how your thoughts affect your emotions and actions, and we practice strategies to challenge and change them. I’ll often give you simple exercises or reflections to try between sessions and during, so you can apply what we talk about in real life and build long-term coping skills.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

In using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma, I help you explore how the traumatic event has affected your beliefs about yourself, others, and the world. Together, we identify stuck points—thoughts that are keeping you stuck in distress—and work to challenge and reframe them. Throughout the process, I guide you in writing and reflecting on your experiences in a safe, structured way, so you can begin to make sense of what happened and move toward healing.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling, I work with both of you to improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen your connection. I create a space where each partner can feel heard and understood, while also helping you develop healthier ways to navigate conflict and express your needs. My goal is to support you in building a more secure, respectful, and fulfilling relationship together

Interpersonal

In interpersonal therapy, I focus on helping you understand and improve the way you relate to others. We explore patterns in your relationships—whether it’s conflict, communication struggles, or feelings of isolation—and work together to develop more effective, satisfying ways of connecting. My goal is to support you in building stronger, healthier relationships that enhance your overall well-being.

Grief Therapy

In grief therapy, I support you as you process the pain of your loss in a compassionate, non-judgmental space. Together, we explore your unique experience of grief, honor the significance of your relationship with what you've lost, and find ways to navigate life moving forward. My goal is to help you make room for both your sorrow and your healing, at a pace that feels right for you.
