I’m Alex, a Licensed Professional Counselor who helps people understand their patterns, deepen their relationships, and reconnect with themselves.

My practice is rooted in Ubuntu “I am because we are” and blends meaningful connection, curiosity, and practical tools with space to explore identity, intuition, and the deeper meaning behind your experiences.

First session

Your first session is a space to show up as you are, without needing to have everything figured out. We’ll explore what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to understand about yourself, and what you want to feel different in your life. I’ll bring curiosity, warmth, and thoughtful questions as we begin connecting the dots. You’ll have room to ask questions, get a feel for our connection, and help shape where we begin.

Strengths

I bring warmth, authenticity, and clinical curiosity to my sessions. I approach each client with humility, recognizing that understanding your experience requires ongoing listening, reflection, and a willingness to examine my own assumptions. I value the trust involved in therapy and work collaboratively to create a relationship where you can explore difficult experiences without feeling judged. A key strength is my ability to recognize patterns and serve as a reflective mirror. I help you identify connections between early relationships, inherited beliefs, emotional responses, and present concerns. Through thoughtful questions, direct feedback, and compassionate exploration, we examine patterns that once served a protective purpose and consider whether they still support your needs. This work supports greater self-awareness, emotional flexibility, confidence, and more intentional choices.

Ideal clients

My ideal clients want to get to know themselves beyond the expectations, inherited beliefs, and roles they’ve learned to play. They’re interested in building confidence, becoming more fully themselves, and understanding the patterns that keep repeating in their lives. Together, we explore generational wounds and relationship loops, helping them decide what they want to carry forward and what they’re ready to change.

Treatment methods

Gottman method

I help couples understand the patterns that leave them feeling disconnected or caught in the same argument. We practice expressing needs, listening with curiosity, and repairing after conflict. Together, we strengthen friendship, rebuild trust, and explore how each partner’s history shapes the relationship they’re creating today.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help you notice how your thoughts, feelings, and actions influence one another. We explore where beliefs like “I’m not enough” or “I have to keep everyone happy” came from and whether they still fit who you are. Together, we practice more balanced ways of thinking and small changes that build confidence and interrupt familiar loops.

Motivational Interviewing

Sometimes one part of you wants change while another part feels unsure. I help you explore both with curiosity and without judgment. We clarify what matters to you, what feels in the way, and what you feel ready to try. Your own values and reasons for change guide our next steps.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I believe you deserve a space where you can feel understood without having to perform or fit someone else’s expectations. I bring warmth, honesty, and curiosity as we explore your experiences, strengths, and sense of self. You help guide our work as we make room for you to trust yourself, build confidence, and become more fully who you are.
