Hello! My name is Dana Abbey and I have been a fully licensed psychotherapist established in the mental health field for 13 years. Over the course of my career I have worked in settings such as emergency rooms, residential treatment programs, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, schools, and outpatient clinics. This has afforded me a well rounded understanding of all aspects of mental healthcare. In the recent years I have incorporated telehealth into practice, allowing greater accessibility and convenience to more clients while providing the same results as in person therapy.
My name is Miguel Lopez, a Hispanic male (He/Him/His) and U.S. Army combat veteran who brings a unique perspective to my work as a therapist. Fluent in Spanish and passionate about guiding people through life’s challenges, I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Walden University, a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University, and an Associate’s in Criminal Justice from Pikes Peak State College. With over a decade of experience as a caseworker, substance abuse counselor, and therapist, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse clients facing real-life struggles and in need of daily support.
Life can be tough, and we all face difficult moments—whether it’s a breakup, divorce, grief, the loss of a loved one or pet, or even a job loss. In these times, having an unbiased person to offer support can make a world of difference. I see trauma as an unexpected part of life that is often hard to process, but with the right help, it can be managed and overcome healthily. I’ve personally experienced more than my share of trauma, grief, loss, sadness, depression, and substance use, and I sought help to work through them.
My approach to therapy is centered on helping people in the best way possible, always with an open mind. I often use Maslow’s hierarchy of needs as a guide, because I believe mental health is hard to prioritize when physical needs aren’t met, or issues like homelessness or substance abuse are present. I enjoy working with clients from age 5 to older adults who face Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, PTSD, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, and other mental health or substance use challenges. It’s easy to fight battles alone and suffer in silence, but you don’t have to anymore—together, we can work toward healing and a better future.
With 15+ years of experience, Mitsouko Chatelain, LCSW, provides compassionate, trauma-informed therapy for children (5+), teens, adults, and older adults. Specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, identity, and life transitions, she blends evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, and Trauma-Focused CBT with a holistic, mind-body-spirit approach.
In a safe, empowering space, Mitsouko helps you connect with your inner strengths, build resilience, and move toward lasting well-being.
Are you feeling overwhelmed by day-to-day life? Are there things from your past that are unresolved? Do you desire self-improvement but don’t know where to start?
Starting where you are is the first step in every new journey. I want to help guide you on your journey by helping you to unlock your own inner power to make transformative changes in your life. This can sound overwhelming, but you don’t have to do this work alone. I take a client-centered approach by meeting you wherever you may be in your journey of healing and self-discovery. Whether it be depression, anxiety, trauma, work or family stress or issues surrounding self-esteem and identity, you’ll receive the support that you need. I get it. Therapy can be intimidating. That is why I aim to provide a safe and affirming space for my clients to open up, grow and heal.
In my 7 years as a social worker, compassion and understanding have always been at the cornerstone of the work that I do with my clients. Our sessions will not be the exception to this. This along with evidence-based techniques will be the key to helping you identify and overcome the current barriers in your life. Ready to work together? Let’s do it!

Hello! So glad you are here! Do you get into relationships hoping that this time things will be different? Do you feel overwhelmed and have a hard time recognizing your dreams and goals? Would you like a more kind and loving relationship with yourself and the ability to extend that to others in your life? I love helping people who are ready to identify patterns that hold them back from happiness and fulfillment in both relationships and other areas of life.
My name is Lisa, and I provide therapy for both addictions and mental health issues. While I have treated those with active addiction for many years, I also treat behavior patterns stemming from addictions and family dysfunction. Although these patterns started out helping us survive challenging situations, they can keep us stuck. Many therapy seekers have found that these patterns can impact their ability to recognize their needs, dreams and to create and sustain both platonic and romantic relationships.
I have a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education from Southern Illinois University specializing in Substance Abuse. From substance abuse counseling, I have expanded my areas of specialties to include family and relationship dynamics and how to heal "survival skills" that have evolved into self-defeating life patterns.
Do you want to finally feel heard and make progress with an experienced therapist? Whether you are facing big life decisions, having relationship issues, or healing from complex trauma, there is hope in recovery. I have extensive experience with providing mental health therapy, clinical supervision, and program management. Additional experience includes working with mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, trauma, attention deficit disorder, mood disorders, personality disorders, and family relations issues.
As a licensed mental health therapist, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing and solution-focused therapy to support clients throughout the therapeutic process. Together we can work toward helping you discover your voice and experience greater freedom on your journey toward healing, wholeness, and wellness.
My goal is to create a safe and supportive therapeutic environment where you feel free to process emotions, express yourself openly, and show up authentically. Through empowerment, self-awareness, and accountability, I strive to help you let go of relationships, patterns, and thought processes that will not serve the healed and evolved version of yourself.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 8 years' experience. I received my master's degree from the University of St. Francis, in Illinois. Hello, I’m Sherise Nicholas, LCSW, CADC. I provide a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients can feel heard and understood. I work with adults and older adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, and everyday life concerns. My approach combines practical coping strategies with a strengths-based perspective to help clients build resilience, improve self-awareness, and create meaningful and lasting change."
In my experience as a counselor, I have had the privilege of working with a wide range of individuals in various settings. I have worked with children and adults in the community, residential, hospital, and educational settings. In each environment I have witnessed the marvel of human potential firsthand. As a clinician I approach people and the work that I do from the belief that people have the innate ability to grow and heal on their own. My personal life experience and my practice have fostered this belief, recognizing that the process may require or be made more manageable with some assistance or a guide, in the form of counseling.
Through my experiences I have witnessed the benefits of the human components that aid in the healing process of psychological symptoms that create difficulty in moving toward fulfillment and full integration of the human experience in the lives of many. The therapeutic relationship, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard are components that for me represent the core of therapy. These components create an experience in which someone can safely explore themselves, their experiences, the world around them, and identify solutions to ailments and the "true self" that is often altered by the world around us.
Hello, I'm Tracey.
"Relationships often die not because of conversations that were had but rather conversations that were never had," (Lysa Terkeurst).
Communication is the #1 most reported reason for couples to enter therapy. It is the "appropriate" way of saying, "he doesn't listen to me," and "all she wants to do is talk and talk, {nag}" or giving each other what I refer to as the "non-verbal abuse" {silent treatment}. It means I don't know my partner, or we can't talk without fighting. Yet almost every couple starts off communicating at some level. I mean, come on--you and your partner would not be a couple if the first date involved playing the "Staring contest" where the first one to blink loses.
What we fail to recognize is that Communication is a form of Intimacy. And all other forms on intimacy hinge on protecting the communicative intimacy. So, what is that and how do I get some before we leave each other?
Communicative intimacy refers to the deep emotional and relational closeness that develops through communication, where individuals feel understood, valued, and connected on a personal level. It is both a feeling and a process shaped by how people interact, listen, and respond to each other. It involves an aligned commitment to taking care of it and protecting it. So, time's a wasting and you both are out of options. You both need to commit to starting this before you commit to ending.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, my work is rooted in the belief that healing happens through connection, compassion, safety and the courage to grow. In my practice, I walk alongside individuals as they navigate life challenges, find healing and empowerment, increase self-awareness, and learn to love and care for themselves in ways they haven't experienced before. Therapy is a space where individual can process and heal from past experiences, strengthen self-confidence and emotion regulation through coping skills, better appreciate and accept self, and build a satisfying and fulfilling life. I am licensed in Illinois, Missouri, and Iowa.

Hello, my name Patrick and I served in three combat tours: serving our country for nine years as a United States Marine. I decided to serve those that are mentally ill in 2013 after my tour of service. After 5 years of study and schooling I got my start in 2017 in a dual-disorder treatment center conducting Intensive inpatient/outpatient groups and utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy as an approach to treating mental health disorders.
Today, I specialize in taking an eclectic approach to using interventions looking at the holistic approaches to the human dynamic. This means looking at a person’s relationships and/or lack, cognitive schemas, their behaviors and habits, their priorities, and then determining how interventions and treatment plans will be formulated. I look at a person’s self-concept and determine holistically how their behaviors, thoughts, and patterns are contributing to their problems and functioning. The skills and tools of a therapist are the personal characteristics they bring into therapy: empathy, active listening these aren’t just attributes that look good on paper but are verbal and non-verbal forms of communication; and its these skills I believe what enables successful outcomes in therapy.

I provide trauma-informed individual therapy via telehealth for adults. I work with individuals navigating relationship concerns, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem challenges, and life transitions, helping them better understand themselves and their patterns. My approach supports clients in discovering their values, building confidence, and creating a life that feels meaningful and aligned with who they truly are, and fosters resilience and well-being.
Welcome—I’m so glad you’re here! I’m Nancy Paz Welsh, a bilingual (English/Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing virtual therapy to adults throughout Maryland, Virginia, and Illinois.
My approach is shaped by both my personal and professional experiences. As the daughter of Salvadoran immigrants, a wife in a biracial marriage, and a mother of two, I understand that identity, culture, relationships, and family expectations can deeply influence how we experience and navigate life. Throughout my career, I’ve also had the privilege of supporting people from diverse backgrounds, communities, and stages of life. I strive to create an inclusive space where every part of your story is welcomed, respected, and understood.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship concerns, and major life transitions. You may feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself, or caught in patterns that no longer serve you. Therapy can offer a place to slow down, better understand yourself, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
My therapeutic style is warm, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and collaborative. Our conversations may feel natural and approachable, but they will also have purpose and direction. I offer compassion alongside gentle accountability, helping you recognize unhelpful patterns, strengthen coping skills, and make choices that align with your values. We’ll work at a pace that feels manageable while remaining focused on meaningful and lasting growth.
Starting therapy may feel daunting, but you don’t have to have everything figured out before taking the first step. Come as you are, and together we’ll work toward greater understanding, healing, and meaningful change. It would be an honor to support you along the way!
