LCSW, 25 years of experience
Hi, I’m Amber Gregory, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and owner of Pathway to Wellness, PLLC. I’m passionate about helping adolescents and adults who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or stuck as they navigate life’s challenges — including addiction, trauma, and major life transitions. In our work together, I take a compassionate, collaborative approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and EMDR to support healing, self-discovery, and lasting growth. My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you feel truly understood and supported, while empowering you on your journey toward balance, resilience, and wellness.
In our first session together, my goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing about yourself. We'll start by discussing what brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. I'll ask questions to get to know you better—your background, current challenges, and any experiences that feel important to your story. I’ll also explain how therapy works, my approach to supporting clients, and answer any questions you may have. This is a collaborative process, so we'll take time to outline your goals and how we can work together to achieve them. You’re welcome to share as much or as little as you feel ready to, and there’s no pressure to dive into deep topics right away. This session is about starting where you are.
As a therapist, I believe my greatest strengths lie in my ability to create a safe, empathetic, and judgment-free environment where clients feel truly heard and supported. I have a deep capacity for compassion and an intuitive understanding of how to meet clients where they are. My approach is collaborative, empowering clients to uncover their strengths and develop tools for navigating life's challenges. My approach to addiction treatment is holistic and evidence-based, integrating cognitive, behavioral, and trauma-informed modalities to support lasting recovery. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to help clients identify triggers, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and strengthen motivation for change. When appropriate, I incorporate Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address underlying trauma that may contribute to addictive behaviors. Mindfulness-based interventions and relapse prevention strategies are also key components of my work, helping clients develop emotional regulation, self-awareness, and effective coping skills. I believe recovery is a deeply personal process, and I collaborate with each individual to create a treatment plan that promotes resilience, empowerment, and overall wellness. I take pride in tailoring my therapeutic methods to the unique needs of each individual. Whether it’s through evidence-based practices or exploring creative approaches, I bring flexibility and attentiveness to every session. Clients often tell me they appreciate my ability to balance warmth and professionalism, fostering both trust and growth in our work together.
I’m passionate about supporting adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, addiction, self-esteem challenges, and major life transitions. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients reframe unhelpful thoughts, process past experiences, and strengthen coping skills. My approach is collaborative and trauma-informed, grounded in empathy and respect for each individual’s unique journey. I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where clients feel empowered to explore, heal, and cultivate lasting personal growth and wellness.
As a therapist utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I focus on helping clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and unhelpful behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. CBT is a structured, evidence-based approach that empowers clients to develop healthier coping mechanisms, improve emotional regulation, and foster problem-solving skills. Through collaboration, I guide clients in understanding the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, working together to set practical goals for positive change. My approach emphasizes creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment, where clients feel encouraged to actively participate in their journey toward greater mental health and resilience. For addiction: I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand and change the patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to addiction. Through this structured, evidence-based approach, we explore the connections between thoughts, emotions, and actions to identify triggers and develop healthier coping skills. I work collaboratively with clients to challenge unhelpful beliefs, build motivation for change, and strengthen relapse-prevention strategies. CBT empowers individuals to take an active role in their recovery, develop practical tools for managing cravings and stress, and create a more balanced and fulfilling life free from substance dependence.
As a therapist specializing in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), I work with clients, particularly children, adolescents, and their families, to address the emotional and psychological impact of traumatic experiences. TF-CBT is an evidence-based approach that integrates cognitive-behavioral principles with trauma-sensitive interventions. It emphasizes creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can process their experiences, develop healthy coping strategies, and reduce trauma-related symptoms. Through structured sessions, I help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, manage overwhelming emotions, and build resilience. TF-CBT also incorporates family involvement, fostering communication and support within the family unit. My goal is to empower clients to reclaim their sense of safety, trust, and well-being while helping them navigate their healing journey with care and compassion.
In my therapeutic approach, I integrate Mindfulness-Based Therapy (MBT) to help clients cultivate a present-centered awareness and develop a compassionate, non-judgmental relationship with their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Mindfulness-Based Therapy emphasizes grounding techniques and mindfulness exercises, such as breathing practices, body scans, and meditation, to reduce stress, enhance emotional regulation, and improve overall well-being. Through this approach, I guide clients in recognizing and accepting their inner experiences without becoming overwhelmed by them. By focusing on the here and now, clients are empowered to break free from patterns of rumination, self-criticism, or anxiety, fostering a greater sense of balance and resilience. My goal is to create a supportive space for clients to explore and embrace mindfulness as a practical tool for enhancing their mental and emotional health.
As a therapist practicing Solution-Focused Brief Treatment (SFBT), I focus on empowering clients to identify and build on their existing strengths and resources to overcome challenges. SFBT is a goal-oriented, future-focused approach that emphasizes solutions rather than dwelling on problems. Through collaborative conversations, I assist clients in envisioning their desired outcomes and mapping actionable steps toward achieving them. This approach is designed to be practical and efficient, often addressing immediate concerns in a time-sensitive manner. By fostering a sense of hope and highlighting past successes, I guide clients in creating meaningful change and gaining confidence in their ability to navigate life's obstacles. My aim is to provide a supportive, encouraging space where clients feel empowered to unlock their potential and achieve their personal goals.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a highly effective and evidence-based therapy for trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences. My approach to EMDR is grounded in creating a safe, collaborative, and supportive environment where clients can process painful memories at a manageable pace. I integrate EMDR within a holistic and trauma-informed framework, drawing from mindfulness, somatic awareness, and cognitive-behavioral principles to help clients regulate emotions and develop adaptive coping skills. EMDR allows clients to reprocess traumatic experiences so they no longer feel “stuck” in the past, leading to greater emotional balance, insight, and resilience. I tailor each EMDR session to meet the individual’s needs and readiness, ensuring that the process feels empowering and restorative.
