Through a client-centered, feminist, and trauma-informed lens, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, empathic, and collaborative space for healing and growth. Therapy sessions will be designed based on your particular needs and your unique style of working, and are adjustable based on how you are doing the day of the session. I know that clients are the experts in their own lives, and that my work is to provide support while they are navigating their challenges.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will be spent getting to know each other and making sure any questions or concerns are addressed. At the end of the first session we will spend a few minutes talking through the outline of a plan for the next several meetings.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I firmly believe that one of the best things I can do for clients is to create a safe, non-judgmental and compassionate space for them, and I will always strive to met people where they are at and understand that they are the experts in their own lives.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work with people from college through retirement and beyond who are struggling with depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationships and life transitions. I do not operate from a textbook; each client has unique challenges, needs and skills that must be taken into consideration for our work to be effective.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I firmly believe that clients are the experts in their lives, and will meet them with empathy and support in every session.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I believe clients benefit from identifying unhelpful thought patterns and making behavioral changes based on that understanding. It's important to develop and use coping skills to regulate emotions so change can occur.

Feminist

I don't think it's possible to assess an individual's mental health without considering the external factors that impact them. Understanding how gender roles, discrimination and politics affect a person will empower them to increase their confidence.
