I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been counseling clients dealing with a variety of mental, emotional, and relational issues for a number of years. I have counseled adolescents, adults, families, couples and groups. I decided to pursue a doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy because I realized the impact that our families, and society as well, have on our mental and emotional development. The impact is both positive and negative and may manifest as depression, anxiety, grief, low self-esteem, a lack of a sense of self and other mental and emotional disorders.
In counseling, I help clients explore those influences and the impact on their life. My specialties then center around helping clients gain insight into those influences, become more empowered, develop a stronger sense of self, and take steps to become who they really are; thereby addressing mental and emotional health issues.
It's important to note that many times, experiences unfortunately include trauma and loss. It may be childhood or other trauma. Identifying, acknowledging and processing trauma and loss is therefore often a part of the process of becoming more empowered and developing that strong sense of self described above.

Therapy with me is not about quick fixes—it’s about meaningful, lasting change and having someone alongside you who understands how difficult things can feel.
Reaching out for therapy is a big step, and I aim to make the process as supportive and straightforward as possible from the beginning. An initial conversation can help determine whether working together feels like the right fit, provide a sense of what the process might look like, and address any questions you may have. I would welcome the opportunity to connect.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 26 years of clinical experience across various settings, including both private and public sectors such as psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, corrections, residential treatment, school-based environments, in-home services, and currently, private practice. I've likely encountered a wide range of situations, allowing me to effectively “meet clients where they are” and guide them on their journey toward recovery and wellness.
I focus on assisting individuals who aim to improve their mental health, emotional resilience, and general well-being. My methods are customized to address the distinct needs of various groups, such as students, young adults, professionals, and those experiencing life transitions.
My communication style is centered around the individual and rooted in compassion. I appreciate the diversity and unique experiences that everyone brings to therapy. My goal is to foster a warm and nurturing relationship with you, helping to enhance your strengths, achieve your goals, and create a meaningful life that aligns with your values and desires.
I am a compassionate and client-centered therapist who is dedicated to helping individuals navigate challenges related to depression, anxiety, and trauma. My approach to therapy is collaborative, supportive, and grounded in evidence-based practices that empower clients to better understand their experiences, build resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives.
I integrate several therapeutic modalities in my work, including Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and mindfulness-based approaches. Through these methods, I help clients identify and challenge unhelpful or “stuck” beliefs related to past experiences, strengthen personal motivation for growth, and develop greater awareness of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in the present moment.
My goal is to create a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and supported as they explore difficult emotions and experiences. Together, we work to develop practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and cultivate healthier perspectives that support long-term well-being.
I particularly enjoy working with individuals who are navigating trauma, stress, life transitions, and mood or anxiety-related concerns. Whether you are seeking to process past experiences, manage overwhelming emotions, or build new coping strategies, therapy can be a powerful step toward healing and personal growth.
Have you noticed that your pre-teen is acting differently– not as interested in school work, arguing more, changed her habits or friends, lost interest in hobbies, is more withdrawn?
Have you tried to cheer your child up, cajoled her, or maybe you’ve taken away privileges, like the phone or computer time in an effort to correct behavior but nothing seems to work? If you’ve come to the end of your rope and want solutions, I can help.
As a parent of two, I have walked the winding, rocky, breathtaking path of parenthood. As a therapist, I have worked with a broad range of children, adolescents, and their parents to not only get through rough spots or trauma but to have it be the foundation of a stronger, more connected family relationship.
Because this platform is based in providing telehealth virtually, and not in person, I have found it best to serve clients that are 10 years old (3rd grade) and older.
I've been a mental health counselor longer than I was a person and when I discovered such I realized how to turn my life journey and passion for wellness and identity into a way of helping others find meaning, relief, and direction during life transitions and challenges. I am a psychotherapist and wellness expert who enjoys being a support and open ear for those in need of a safe space and change within their lives. With a diverse background in providing therapy and counseling services, I like to start with meeting you where you are at and seeing the path that you desire. I enjoy helping you find ways and strategies that support movement towards your goals or healing. I have a bag of tricks and skills to offer if that is what is necessary. I'd rather connect as persons navigating this big thing called 'life' by offering perspective through a lens of individualized strengths, personality preferences (e.g. MBTI), emotional regulation/stress management, and the dimensions of wellness.

Together, we explore how you view the world and if your view or thinking patterns can be adjusted to help you grow. I specialize in helping teens and adults work on symptoms of depression, anxiety, self-harming behaviors, life stressors, and life transitions.
My goal as a therapist is to be open, honest, genuine. I will provide unconditional positive regard. I love mixing talk therapy with things you can use daily to improve your view of yourself and your life. Therapy can be scary, being open to someone you don't know is risky. I want to provide a safe space for you to be yourself. I look forward to meeting you!
