Greetings! Thank you in advance for taking the time out to learn more about me. My name is Christie Peters. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to providing compassionate and effective therapy to individuals, couples, and families. I bring extensive training and over 20 years of experience in the field of social work and helping others to improve their overall well-being. As a licensed clinical social worker, taking on a holistic approach in helping my clients to meet their mental, emotional, spiritual and physiological needs with a focus on the mind and body connection.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, you can expect to discuss your current concerns, goals, and any challenges you are facing. Background information will be gathered to better understand your personal history. Your initial session is an opportunity for you to share openly in a non-judgmental space. I will also explain the therapeutic process, including the methods I use, such as (CBT) and other integrative approaches. Together, we will begin to establish a collaborative treatment plan which is your map towards healing, focusing on what you hope to achieve through therapy. This session sets the foundation for future work and helps build a trusting therapeutic relationship.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is developing a strong alliance with my clients, ensuring you feel genuinely supported as you allow for me to become a part of your "dream team." I bring a slight sense of humor to our sessions and occasionally use puppets to make our work engaging. However, when it's time to empathize and allow space for emotions, I am fully present and supportive. I understand that sometimes it's necessary to cry and unpack difficult feelings, and I am here to guide you through that process with compassion and insight.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I offer Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and modify behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. By focusing on the connection between thoughts, feelings, and actions, I help guide clients to create practical strategies for managing symptoms and improving daily functioning.
