LPC, 12 years of experience
Welcome! My name is Candice Schalit. I was born and raised in the Bronx, New York, to immigrant parents. My parents instilled in me a passion for being an active listener, and with that, I speak from a position of compassion and knowledge. I enjoy the field of mental health and helping others create balance with their mental health. I am licensed in GA and SC. I am committed to being your co-pilot on your journey to becoming the best version of yourself. My therapy tone is supportive and challenging, designed to help you reach your desired position in life. Whether it's a five-year or six-month plan, I'm here to help you every step of the way. I look forward to working with you.
In our first session we will work on rapport building and getting to know each other. I will gather information about your mental/medical history and work on establishing your treatment plan.
My biggest strengths are being a great listener, challenging, supportive, and compassionate. I believe these areas are important when building a safe space with a client and nurturing growth.
I love working with clients that are open to change and motivated to trying new concepts to improving their life trajectory.

I have been in therapy since I was 19 and just seemed to hit a natural ending point with my previous therapist after 7 good years together. I felt like I wasn't evolving anymore. I was nervous to see a new therapist, but felt immediately comfortable with her. I feel that she is direct, warm, and will challenge you to reframe your negative thoughts and see a different perspective. Very excited to continue therapy with her and grow.
Candice Schalit offers therapy covered by Medicaid - Peach State Health Plan and Peach State Health Plan (Managed Medicaid) in Georgia.
Cognitive behavior therapy is my primary treatment method as it helps our mind correct our conditioned patterns and behaviors.
