I am a Chicago native, who has been practicing for seven years in the state of Georgia. I received my bachelor’s degree from the illustrious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Psychology , masters in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling and actively pursuing a doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership from Adler University. I am a fun, loving, compassionate leader and servant to my community and I bring elements of myself through my experience and training. I’m not an expert of all things, just my experience and I like to help navigating my clients to own their expertise and sharpen their skillsets.
I'm the therapist whose cats or dog might make an appearance in session, loves to use visual tools, and maintains her own therapy. I would love to see pictures of your art, fur babies (and human babies), and your favorite TikToks. I am always pleased to meet potential clients who may have had a poor experience with therapy in the past or who are starting therapy for the first time. There's no rush in a session with me, as I am only interested in focusing on what is most important to you. Sessions have been filled with laughter, silence, tears and everything in between.
My practice is built on creating a secure and nurturing space where you can openly explore difficulties and cultivate resilience. With over 15 years of experience, I provide comprehensive mental health support to children, adolescents, adults, and families navigating diverse challenges. Through tailored strategies and compassionate guidance, I'm here to empower your next steps. I invite you to reach out and begin this transformative work.

I truly saw the need for more mental health professionals in my community when I lost my father in 2006. Since that day, I began my journey of understanding the mind and how it works. We go through many major life transitions such as breakups, divorce, having children, new professions, loss of income, moving, pandemic stress and more. Most do not realize just how traumatic these seemingly “normal” events are to us at times.
I am here to help you if you feel overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, angry or confused concerning anything that has been thrown at you in your life. If you feel that what you are dealing with is too much to handle on your own, please reach out to me. We cannot stop this cycle of numbing or ignoring mental health issues in our world if we do not start within.
As a mental health advocate, I am here for you. I have seen the impact of a lack of relatable and accessible mental health programs and providers. I am here to be the bridge and get you the solutions, support, and guidance you need.

Abeke "Kay" Baker, LMFT, is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a 2011 graduate of Mercer University School of Medicine’s Master’s program in Marriage and Family Therapy. With a career in mental health and social services that began at just 14 years old, Abeke brings over 18 years of hands-on experience to her work. She began as a youth counselor with the Red Cross Lock Key Kids safety program and has since served in diverse roles, including Program Director for Howard County Parks and Recreation in Columbia, MD—supporting youth and young adults with developmental disabilities, autism, and maladaptive behaviors—as well as working in inpatient crisis stabilization settings for both adolescents and adults.
Founder of All 1 Family, Inc.
Abeke is the founder of All 1 Family, Inc., a nonprofit community mental health organization based in Atlanta, GA. The organization is dedicated to supporting the mental wellness of LGBTQ+ individuals—especially people of color—by offering a safe, affirming space for clients to explore their identities and experiences with the support of culturally competent therapists. All 1 Family provides low-cost counseling services, including individual, family, group, and couples therapy. The clinicians—many of whom identify as LGBTQ+ or allies of color—bring lived experience and deep empathy to their work.
Founder’s Statement
“While working across inpatient and community-based mental health settings—providing crisis intervention, assessments, and psychotherapy—I noticed a troubling pattern: many LGBTQ+ individuals were seeking support but struggled to find providers who were affirming, empathetic, and nonjudgmental. This gap often led individuals to delay or forgo much-needed care. All 1 Family was born from the belief that everyone deserves a safe space to be seen, heard, and supported.”
