(she/her)
Hi, I’m Nikita DeWitt, LPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience helping individuals and couples navigate anxiety, relationships, life transitions, and personal growth. My approach is warm, supportive, and solution-focused, while also being honest and direct when that’s what growth requires. I use evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused therapy to help clients better understand themselves, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful change. At Deeply Rooted Therapy, LLC, I believe therapy should be a space where you feel heard, challenged, and empowered to grow—not judged. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, relationship concerns, major life changes, or simply feel stuck, I’m here to help you move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose.
In your first session, you can expect a welcoming, judgment-free space to share what brought you to therapy, identify what you hope to change, and begin making sense of the challenges you’re facing. We’ll start building a therapeutic relationship while identifying initial goals and practical areas to focus on. I hope you leave your first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful—with a clearer sense that you don’t have to navigate everything alone. With individuals, I focus on your unique experiences, thought patterns, emotions, and goals while helping you develop practical tools for change. With couples, I focus on communication, relationship patterns, emotional needs, and creating a healthier dynamic between partners. When working with families, I look at the relationships and patterns within the family system while helping each person feel heard and working toward healthier communication and connection. Regardless of the setting, my goal is to meet you where you are while helping you move toward where you want to be.
My approach is warm, honest, and intentionally collaborative. I believe clients need both a safe place to be heard and a therapist who is willing to lovingly challenge them when needed. I’m not afraid to sit with you in difficult moments, but I also won’t simply tell you what you want to hear. I’ll help you identify patterns, challenge unhelpful thinking, take accountability, and recognize the areas where you have the power to make different choices. My years of experience working with people through anxiety, relationships, life transitions, and difficult seasons have taught me that healing is rarely a straight line. My goal is to create a space where you can be vulnerable without judgment while also feeling encouraged to grow. I want you to leave sessions feeling understood, but also with greater clarity, practical tools, and a sense of direction.
My ideal client is someone who is ready to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their life. I enjoy working with adults and couples navigating anxiety, relationship concerns, major life transitions, family dynamics, self-worth, or feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy—you simply need to be willing to be honest, curious, and open to growth. My clients often want more than simply having someone listen; they want practical tools, greater self-awareness, healthier relationships, and a clearer sense of direction. I work especially well with clients who appreciate a therapist who can provide both compassion and accountability. If you’re looking for a space where you can be heard without judgment while also being gently challenged to look at your thoughts, choices, and patterns differently, we may be a great fit.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge beliefs that may be contributing to anxiety or emotional distress, and develop more balanced and realistic ways of thinking. I also focus on practical strategies clients can use between sessions, such as coping skills, behavioral changes, problem-solving, and intentional action. My goal is not to simply “think positively,” but to help clients recognize patterns that may be keeping them stuck and learn healthier ways to respond. CBT gives clients practical tools they can continue using long after therapy ends.
Faith-based therapy integrates a client’s Christian faith and spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process when they desire it. I believe faith can be an important source of hope, strength, identity, and guidance, and I create space to explore how beliefs, prayer, Scripture, and a relationship with God may support the healing process. We may incorporate faith-based perspectives alongside evidence-based approaches such as CBT, while still addressing emotions, relationships, behaviors, and practical concerns. My approach is not about imposing beliefs, but about meeting clients where they are and honoring the role faith plays in their lives. My goal is to help clients grow emotionally, relationally, and spiritually in a way that aligns with their values.
I use a person-centered, humanistic approach by creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely heard, respected, and valued. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you while helping you better understand yourself, your emotions, relationships, and needs. I emphasize empathy, authenticity, and acceptance while also encouraging self-reflection and personal responsibility. Rather than simply focusing on symptoms, we explore the whole person and the experiences that have shaped you. My goal is to help you develop greater self-awareness, confidence, and self-compassion while creating meaningful change that feels authentic to who you are.
