Before you go any further and read anything else, I want you to give yourself a pat on the back for making it here! Whether you got here on your own or with someone’s help, consider it progress because you cared enough to try. You are probably here because you realized that it is time for things to change. As your therapist I am not here to fix it. The fear, the anxiety, the depression, the pain that you feel is not uncommon. My role is to help you heal. Together we can work on reaching your full potential and reconnecting you to the person you know yourself to be. My name is Danica (duh·knee·kuh) Nestor. I am a Licensed Social Worker with extensive experience in various clinical settings ranging from neurosurgery/neurosciences medical social work to psychiatry, with a passion for breaking stigmas and normalizing the utilization of mental health services.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, utilizing an evidence-based personality test. This will help to break the ice, but more importantly help me to learn how to best communicate to you in a language you understand. If time permits, we will also dive into goal settings that addressed the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create tailored interventions and plans for us to work through together in our follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider is my passion towards what I do. I am intentional about the services I provide and my clients recognize the authenticity in our sessions together.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I can help you recognize and acknowledge the thoughts/feelings you experience, embrace those thoughts/ feeling rather than avoid or denying them.
