Hi, I'm Victoria Suazo, a Licensed Professional Counselor and EMDR-trained therapist. I specialize in helping women heal from attachment wounds, trauma, and relationship patterns that leave them feeling anxious, disconnected, or stuck. My approach is rooted in attachment theory, Adlerian principles, EMDR, and evidence-based practices, while also offering faith integration for clients who desire it. Together, we'll explore how your past experiences have shaped your present, process the deeper wounds that keep old patterns in place, and help you build a more secure, confident, and emotionally healthy version of yourself.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, my goal is to get to know you beyond your symptoms or diagnosis. We'll spend time discussing what brings you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, and the goals you hope to achieve. I'll also ask questions about your background, relationships, family of origin, and significant life experiences so I can begin understanding your story through a holistic lens. The first session is also an opportunity for you to determine whether I am a good fit for your needs. Therapy works best when there is a strong therapeutic relationship, so I welcome your questions and want you to feel comfortable sharing what is important to you. Together, we'll begin identifying patterns, strengths, and areas for growth while creating a treatment plan tailored to your unique goals and experiences.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I strive to provide a balance of warmth, compassion, and accountability in the therapy room. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, supported, and safe enough to explore even the most vulnerable parts of your story. At the same time, I believe meaningful growth often requires us to gently examine the beliefs, patterns, and perspectives that may be keeping us stuck. While I will always approach you with empathy and respect, I am also willing to challenge you when necessary. Healing is not just about being heard—it is also about developing the insight and self-awareness needed to create lasting change. Together, we will explore difficult truths, consider alternative perspectives, and work toward growth that aligns with the person you want to become.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I integrate attachment-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approaches to help clients understand how early relational wounds influence present-day patterns in relationships, emotional regulation, identity, and self-worth. I believe many of the cycles clients struggle with are rooted in adaptive survival responses developed through attachment injuries and unmet emotional needs. Healing involves more than insight—it involves repairing the relationship with self, processing relational wounds, and learning new ways of connecting from a place of safety and security.

Adlerian

My clinical framework is rooted in Adlerian theory, which emphasizes the importance of understanding the whole person within the context of their family system, early life experiences, relationships, and social environment. I believe that an individual’s family of origin and early relational experiences significantly shape how they view themselves, connect with others, and navigate the world today.

EMDR

EMDR helps facilitate the deeper healing work by targeting the core memories and experiences connected to attachment wounds and emotional distress. By processing these underlying experiences, clients are able to reduce the emotional impact of past wounds, shift negative beliefs about themselves, and develop healthier, more secure ways of relating to themselves and others.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I integrate CBT interventions into talk therapy sessions to support skill building, emotional regulation, and increased self-awareness. CBT techniques and homework assignments can help clients challenge unhelpful thought patterns and practice healthier coping strategies while engaging in deeper attachment and trauma-focused healing work.

Faith based therapy

As a Christian myself, I understand the value many clients place on working with a therapist who holds similar beliefs and values. I honor each client’s preferences regarding the integration of faith into the therapeutic process and will incorporate faith-based perspectives, values, and practices in a way that feels supportive, respectful, and aligned with the client’s individual needs and goals.
