Throughout my experience working with adolescents and young adults experiencing depression and anxiety, I have focused on creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and emotions. I recognize that symptoms often present differently across developmental stages and may include changes in mood, social withdrawal, academic difficulties, low self-esteem, irritability, excessive worry, or challenges with emotional regulation.
My approach begins with building a strong therapeutic relationship, completing comprehensive assessments, identifying each client's strengths, and collaborating with them and their families to develop individualized treatment goals that promote emotional well-being and resilience.
I utilize evidence-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed interventions to help adolescents and young adults develop effective coping skills and improve emotional functioning. I incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, psychoeducation, problem-solving, and strengths-based approaches to help clients identify negative thought patterns, manage anxiety symptoms, regulate emotions, and increase self-confidence.
My clinical experience has reinforced the importance of meeting clients where they are while respecting their individual backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences. I believe successful treatment extends beyond symptom reduction and focuses on empowering people to develop healthy relationships, improve communication skills, strengthen coping abilities, and build hope for the future. Through empathy, active listening, consistent support, and evidence-based interventions, I strive to help my clients s achieve greater emotional stability, resilience, and overall mental wellness while supporting them in reaching their personal, educational, and life goals.
