Taking the first step toward healing takes courage, and I’m here to support you throughout your journey toward wellness.

First session

Your first session is an opportunity for us to connect, build trust, and begin understanding your unique experiences, concerns, and goals. I recognize that starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if this is your first time, so my priority is to create a welcoming, compassionate, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable being yourself. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy, explore your current challenges, review relevant personal history, and identify what you hope to achieve. I'll also explain my therapeutic approach, confidentiality, and what you can expect moving forward. There is no pressure to share everything at once. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together, we'll begin developing a personalized plan that supports your emotional well-being, personal growth, and overall wellness. My goal is for you to leave your first session feeling heard, respected, supported, and hopeful about the journey ahead.

Strengths

I bring compassion, empathy, authenticity, and a nonjudgmental approach to every session. My greatest strengths include active listening, building trusting relationships, and creating a safe, affirming environment where clients feel comfortable being their authentic selves. I combine professional expertise, life experiences, and evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to help clients recognize their strengths, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and develop practical coping strategies. I believe in meeting clients where they are, honoring their unique experiences, and empowering them to navigate challenges with greater confidence, resilience, and purpose.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is an adult who is ready to explore personal growth, healing, and meaningful change, even if they are unsure where to begin. They may be navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, self-esteem concerns, identity exploration, or significant life transitions. They may feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, emotionally exhausted, or simply disconnected from the life they envision for themselves. I especially welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds, including those in the LGBTQ+ community, who are seeking a compassionate, culturally responsive, and affirming space to express themselves freely without fear of judgment. My ideal client does not have to have everything figured out or know exactly what they need from therapy. They simply need a willingness to explore their experiences, challenge unhelpful patterns, and consider new possibilities. Whether they are struggling with past experiences, setting healthy boundaries, strengthening relationships, or rediscovering their confidence, I meet them where they are. Together, we work toward healthier coping strategies, improved emotional well-being, greater resilience, and a stronger sense of balance and purpose. I believe therapy is not about becoming someone different; it is about discovering, accepting, and empowering the person you are while creating the life you deserve.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) will help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, explore how they affect daily experiences, and develop healthier ways of responding to life's challenges. Through guided reflection, practical exercises, and personalized coping strategies, I help clients manage anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each individual's needs. Rather than simply focusing on problems, I empower clients to challenge negative beliefs, build confidence, strengthen emotional resilience, and create meaningful, lasting changes in their lives.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) will help clients navigate difficult thoughts, emotions, and life experiences without allowing them to define or control their lives. Rather than focusing solely on changing uncomfortable feelings, we work together to develop greater self-awareness, emotional flexibility, and acceptance of experiences beyond their control. Through mindfulness, values exploration, and practical strategies, I help clients manage anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and centered on helping clients identify what truly matters to them. I empower clients to move beyond fear, self-doubt, and avoidance by making intentional choices that align with their personal values, strengthen resilience, and support a more meaningful, authentic, and fulfilling life.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing (MI) will help clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and motivations for making meaningful changes in their lives. Through compassionate, nonjudgmental conversations, I create a supportive environment where clients can openly discuss challenges, uncertainties, and barriers to personal growth. Rather than telling clients what they should do, I help them discover their own reasons for change, recognize their strengths, and build confidence in their ability to move forward. My approach emphasizes active listening, collaboration, and respect for each individual's choices and experiences. Together, we explore ambivalence, identify personal goals, and develop practical steps toward positive change. I believe lasting transformation begins when individuals feel empowered to make decisions that align with their values, strengthen their resilience, and support a healthier, more balanced, and fulfilling life.

Narrative

Narrative Therapy will help clients explore the stories they tell themselves about their lives, experiences, relationships, and identities. I believe that while our experiences shape us, they do not have to define who we are or who we can become. Through compassionate, collaborative conversations, I help clients separate themselves from their challenges, recognize limiting beliefs, and discover strengths, values, and possibilities that may have been overshadowed by difficult experiences. Together, we explore how past experiences, cultural influences, and personal relationships have shaped their perspectives while creating opportunities to rewrite narratives that no longer serve them. My approach empowers clients to reclaim their voices, embrace their authentic identities, build resilience, and develop a more hopeful, meaningful, and fulfilling vision for their future. Your experiences are part of your story, but they do not have to determine how your story continues.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Person-Centered and Humanistic Therapy will help create a compassionate, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel genuinely heard, valued, and respected. I believe every individual possesses unique strengths, experiences, and the potential for personal growth and meaningful change. Through empathy, authenticity, unconditional positive regard, and active listening, I encourage clients to explore their emotions, experiences, and personal goals at their own pace. Rather than directing their journey, I work collaboratively with clients to strengthen self-awareness, build confidence, foster self-acceptance, and discover solutions that align with their values and authentic selves. My approach recognizes that each person's journey is unique and that meaningful healing begins when individuals feel safe, empowered, and accepted for who they are. My goal is to help clients embrace their strengths, recognize their worth, and create a more balanced, purposeful, and fulfilling life.
