This unique population has an increase in resilience as they learn to understand the environment. I want to process with individuals through rehabilitation supports to ameliorate behavioral challenges. Collaboration with social and paid supports is pinnacle in this population's well-being to ensure stability while increasing coping, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist nearing 20 years’ experience, I work with a foundation of Solution Focus and Systemic Therapy. I’m often looking for "the funny" in the moment and the world around me. I greatly enjoy sarcasm, snark, and satire. I'm fairly casual but have been told I "Clean up well", and clients have told me in the past they appreciate that I do not come across as "stuffy". Once upon a time I even submitted a short film to the Cannes Film Festival (wasn't selected) but I did enter. Prior to being a therapist, I found myself listening and caring, as people would end up just talking to me and telling me their life story. I decided I should put that to good use. Additionally, growing up my family was fortunate to be able to adopt and quickly we became a larger family that could not remember when my sister was not part of the family. Through the process, I realized how important family and relationships. I appreciate and look forward to the chance to help others get through the rough patches, when life hits hard. When the answer is not easily found, we take time to look at all the options and find something, at least one step towards better. We're not looking for perfection, just looking for progress, a little bit here and there.

Painful experiences often lead us to put up defenses to prevent from falling into overwhelming emotions. These defenses might be perfectionism, escapism, anger towards those close to us, or entering into unhealthy relationships. However doing so disconnects us from ourselves and from the people around us often resulting in experiences of loneliness, shame, anxiety, and depression. I am passionate in helping people improve their self-worth, and process traumatic situations that leave us with negative patterns and lack of security. I believe that while brokenness happens in relationships, healing occurs in relationship as well. There is hope that with willingness and facing these uncomfortable parts of ourself that meaningful and lasting change can occur. Healing is possible.
