About

Through life experiences, personal challenges, and a journey of self-love, soul-searching, and self-awareness, I've discovered the importance of healing and personal development. My goal is to give others the opportunity to gain these same skills, empowering them to embrace their own journey with confidence, resilience, and authenticity. My professional goals are to empower individuals by helping them build self-confidence, develop self-love, and gain practical tools to effectively manage life challenges and symptoms. I am passionate about encouraging people to recognize their strengths and not allow past experiences to define their present circumstances or future potential. I approach situations from a clinical, solution-focused perspective, which has proven highly effective in supporting positive outcomes for populations I serve. My work centers on fostering resilience, promoting personal growth, and helping individuals develop the skills to improve their overall quality of life.

First session

Clients can expect a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where they feel heard, respected, and supported. Therapy is a collaborative process designed to help clients explore their thoughts, emotions, experiences, and relationships with greater clarity and self-awareness. Together, we will work to identify patterns, build healthy coping skills, foster resilience, and support meaningful personal growth. Whether you are navigating life transitions, healing from past experiences, managing anxiety or stress, or seeking a deeper understanding of yourself, therapy provides a space to process challenges, develop practical tools, and move toward lasting emotional well-being. Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a trusting therapeutic relationship. We will discuss what brings you to therapy, your personal history, current concerns, and what you hope to achieve through the counseling process.

Strengths

My own life experiences have given me a deeper appreciation for the resilience of the human spirit. Having navigated personal challenges and healed from past trauma, I understand the courage it takes to seek support and embrace change. Those experiences have strengthened my empathy and enabled me to connect with clients in a genuine, compassionate way while maintaining a professional, evidence-based approach to therapy.

Ideal clients

I am especially passionate about working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and the effects of past trauma, including survivors of domestic violence. I also enjoy supporting those who are struggling with self-worth, searching for purpose, or learning to love and accept themselves. I am compassionate about working with teenagers who are navigating challenges in their relationships with caregivers, siblings, or friends. Adolescence can be a difficult and overwhelming time, especially when it feels like you are going through these struggles alone or as though no one else understands what you are experiencing.

Treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

CBT: CBT will be used to help the client identify the connections among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Sessions will focus on recognizing unhelpful thinking patterns, developing healthy coping skills, improving emotional regulation, and practicing positive problem-solving and communication skills. The client will learn to replace negative thoughts with more balanced thinking and use coping strategies to respond appropriately to stressful situations. DBT: DBT will be used to teach the client skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. Sessions will focus on helping the client manage intense emotions, improve communication, tolerate distress in healthy ways, and develop effective coping strategies. Gestalt: Gestalt therapy will be used to increase the client's self-awareness by helping them identify and express their thoughts, feelings, and experiences in the present moment. Sessions will encourage emotional expression, personal responsibility, and the development of healthy coping skills. Motivational Interviewing: Motivational Interviewing will be used to enhance the client's motivation for change by exploring ambivalence, identifying personal goals, and strengthening commitment to positive behavioral changes. Solution-focused brief treatment: Solution-Focused Brief Therapy will be used to help the client identify strengths, build on existing successes, and develop practical, goal-oriented solutions to current challenges. Grief therapy: Help the client process feelings of loss, express emotions, and develop healthy coping skills to adjust to changes and move forward in a positive way.
