Taking the first step toward feeling better can be difficult, especially when you have been carrying emotional struggles on your own. You may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward. Therapy can provide a safe place to slow down, better understand what you are experiencing, and begin making changes that feel meaningful to you. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida with more than 15 years of experience, I help individuals navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, loneliness, low self-esteem, relationship concerns, communication difficulties, and challenging life transitions. I also support people who are struggling with guilt, shame, isolation, or a loss of confidence and purpose. I provide a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where you can speak openly and feel heard, respected, and understood. My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based, and solution-focused. Because everyone’s experiences and needs are different, I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches and tailor our work to your individual concerns, strengths, and goals. Together, we can explore the thoughts, feelings, experiences, and patterns that may be keeping you from living the life you want. We will work to identify your existing strengths, develop healthy coping skills, improve communication, strengthen relationships, and create practical strategies that can make everyday life feel more manageable. I believe therapy is a collaborative process and that you are the expert on your own life. My role is to support and guide you as you build confidence, resilience, and a greater sense of balance. Whether you are seeking healing from the past, support with a current challenge, or hope for the future, you do not have to face it alone. Together, we can work toward meaningful and lasting change.
The first session gives us an opportunity to understand what brings you to therapy and what you hope will be different as a result of seeking support. It is completely normal to feel uncertain about what to say or where to begin. You do not need to prepare a detailed explanation or have everything figured out before we meet. We can begin with what feels most important to you. During this appointment, I will ask questions about your current concerns, symptoms, relationships, life circumstances, and any recent events that may be affecting your emotional well-being. We may also review relevant personal, family, medical, and mental health history. This information helps me understand the broader picture of your experiences and identify areas where therapy may be most beneficial. You are welcome to share at your own pace. Although some background information is helpful, you will not be expected to discuss painful or traumatic experiences in detail before you feel ready. You may also ask questions about therapy, confidentiality, the treatment process, or anything else that would help you understand what to expect. We will talk about the changes you would like to make and begin identifying clear, realistic goals for treatment. These goals might involve managing anxiety or depression, processing a difficult experience, improving communication, strengthening relationships, increasing self-confidence, developing healthier coping skills, or adjusting to a major life transition. Your goals may evolve over time as you gain insight and your circumstances change. Before the session ends, we will discuss possible next steps and what future appointments may look like. I may offer an initial recommendation, suggest an area to explore further, or introduce a practical strategy you can begin using between sessions. We can also discuss how often you would like to meet based on your needs, goals, and availability. The first appointment is primarily about gathering information, establishing direction, and determining whether working together feels like a good fit. My hope is that you leave with a clearer understanding of the therapy process, an initial sense of direction, and confidence that your concerns are being taken seriously.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is helping people feel comfortable enough to speak openly and honestly. I understand that sharing personal experiences can be difficult, particularly if you have felt misunderstood or judged in the past. I listen with compassion, patience, and genuine respect, allowing you to share at a pace that feels right for you. I recognize that each person brings a unique history, perspective, and set of circumstances to therapy. I will ask thoughtful questions and help you examine the patterns, experiences, and concerns that may be affecting your well-being. At the same time, we will recognize the strengths and abilities you already possess and consider how you can use them to move forward. I value honesty, trust, and open communication within the therapeutic relationship. I welcome your questions and feedback, including conversations about what you find helpful or what you may need to approach differently. My role is not to tell you how to live your life or make decisions for you. Instead, I will help you gain a clearer understanding of your situation, consider new perspectives, and explore choices that reflect what matters most to you. I hope to provide the encouragement and guidance you need to feel more confident in yourself and your ability to create positive change.
My dream client is not defined by a specific diagnosis or background, but by a willingness to show up, be open to the process, and work toward growth and healing at their own pace. I strive to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to better understand themselves, navigate life’s challenges, and create meaningful change.

I was trained in this specialty and implemented it with children within a school district after a natural disaster significantly impacted thousands of individuals and families. I have also utilized this treatment modality with veterans while working as a trauma therapist for the United States Department of Veterans Affairs in Florida. These experiences strengthened my belief in the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy in helping individuals process trauma, build resilience, and develop healthier patterns of thinking and behavior.
I am naturally drawn to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy because I believe that once we begin to address and challenge the way we think about ourselves, others, and the world around us, we can create meaningful changes in our behaviors, emotional responses, and overall quality of life. CBT emphasizes the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and I appreciate its practical, goal-oriented approach to helping individuals develop healthier patterns of thinking and coping.
I am also drawn to Person-Centered Therapy because I believe healing and personal growth occur most effectively when individuals feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. This approach emphasizes empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard, allowing clients to explore their thoughts and emotions in a safe and supportive environment. I value the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship and empowering clients to recognize their own strengths, insight, and capacity for change.
