Hello! It’s a pleasure to meet you, please call me Dee. I’m a licensed mental health counselor in Florida and a retired Army veteran. I have over 18 years of professional counseling experience working with both children and adults. My undergraduate degree was earned at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and my graduate degree earned at the University of North Florida. Credentials: Florida Licensed Mental Health Counselor Nationally Board-Certified Mental Health Counselor Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor Florida Board Certified Telehealth Practitioner Certified Supervisor for Post Graduate Mental Health Counselors I have served clients as individuals, families, and within group environments. Additionally, my counseling experience has included inpatient, outpatient, and crisis stabilization units within the Florida Department of Corrections. I also served as the mental health authority within medium to low-risk juvenile inpatient programs. My experience also includes working within community social service agencies and Medicaid programs. In my years of professional experience, I have found that Depressive and Anxiety Disorders are managed best using Psychotherapy. Whereas many clients may find it helpful to include Antidepressant/Antianxiety medications, it has been my experience that medications alone are less effective and are often supported by Counseling Intervention with a Professional Counselor.

In therapy with me, there’s no judgment, no fluff, and no “one-size-fits-all” solutions. We’ll start where you are—whether that’s putting out fires in your daily life or addressing deeper wounds that keep pulling you back. I combine Brainspotting, practical tools, and direct conversation to help you manage today’s struggles while healing the past. My focus areas include anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and domestic violence. I also work with therapists, first responders, and others carrying the weight of the world. My style is direct, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that healing is messy but possible. Together, we’ll create a space to explore your emotions, uncover patterns, and build strategies that work for you. It’s not about perfection—it’s about progress and reclaiming your life on your terms.

Life is complicated and we all must navigate through our bumps on the road. No matter how large or small our problems may seem to others, they affect us in many different ways. My name is Nilda De la Fe and I’m a Florida licensed Mental Health Counselor. I earned my master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova University and began my professional career immediately after graduation. My first job was at a physical rehabilitation hospital where I worked with individuals of all ages. These were patients in treatment for multiple conditions including spinal cord injuries, head injuries, strokes, multiple sclerosis, knee and hip replacements. This experience was the base from where I developed my theoretical framework. For the past 20+ years, I have worked with many individuals and families, each with their own unique challenges and views. Your first session with me will be one of building rapport and getting to know each other better. During this first session, I want to be able to understand your situation and discuss some goals for the short and long term. I believe that psychotherapy is a two-way relationship where your feedback and collaboration is necessary for a successful outcome. I want you to be able to take from therapy more than just relief from your current situation. I want you to be equipped with skills you can use at other points in your life. So, don’t wait any longer. Your journey towards emotional, psychological, and social well-being is just a step away.

Hello, it will soon be great to meet you as you visit my Grow Therapy Provider Profile. I'm Jacqueline Gibb, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I work with all ages in the Tampa FL area. You can meet with me for an in-office visit or teletherapy. I enjoy working with clients who feel they struggle with a wide range of mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, focus and concentration issues, ADHD, and obsessive-compulsive disorder to name a few. It can be frustrating when an individual is struggling emotionally with more negative than positive feelings and it can keep an individual feeling stuck in their emotional pain. I have diligently studied the understanding of the amygdala in the brain and how the amygdala and hippocampus interprets emotional, physical, and sexual abuse that can keep a person feeling that they can't break free from the negative memories of their past. Also, these painful memories will continue to remind individuals of the traumatic event(s) they went through. Remember, you're not alone and you are valuable. The trainings that I've received can move you forward toward your life goals and the good news is that you and I working together to reduce the negative thoughts and feelings you have had to suffer through. Now, you can obtain the sense of belonging and joy you deserve in this life without negative thoughts and feelings popping up in your head when you least expect them. I also believe psychoeducation is an important part of the healing process. This helps you to understand certain types of thinking patterns and behavior reactions the human brain does and how you can reduce and stop those type of negative feelings as you move forward with healing. My counseling style is warm and interactive. I believe in treating individuals with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I work with all faith denominations, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. It takes courage to reach for a more fulfilling and happier life! By making an appointment with me, you're taking the first brave step towards change. If you're ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you to move boldly into your future! I look forward to working with you, together, we can get your life back on track! Don't forget, believe in yourself, and remember "You Are Valuable."

I would describe myself as a goofy and radically empathetic therapist that struggles with severe ADHD and also anxiety. Not to mention the grief! I am big on being vulnerable myself. We must lead by example. I also am a strong believer in the power of connection. If you cannot connect with your therapist, research says that therapy is not likely to be effective. I prioritize the therapeutic relationship above all else. That is my foundation. That means I pride myself on not being a robot. I cannot believe I have to say this, but many students in therapy have told me that they have had robotic therapist. That is not me. I believe the most powerful therapeutic techniques are empathy and unconditional love, and those are the values I do my best to display consistently. I currently provide individual counseling to students at Miami Dade College and I have found that I really enjoy working with college students that recently graduated from high school. I find that the world treats them cruelly at such an overwhelming time of their lives and they deserve unconditional love, not tough love.

In therapy, I counsel individuals, families, couples, and children. No matter how trivial an issue may seem, everyone has issues in life. If it is causing you emotional pain, that is a good reason to seek out help. I understand everyone has a different journey in their lives and I would like to assist you in your path to self-discovery and healing. Your issues may be stress, loneliness, sadness, frustration, or concern for a loved one. You are not alone and I am ready to help you explore strategies to help you improve your life. Each session is provided in a warm and compassionate environment. I will ask you some questions so I can understand which issues you want to focus on. Therapy is a process of learning and the rewards are great. You will develop parts of yourself that you did not know existed. This will help you to become a better parent, partner, and best friend to yourself and your loved ones. Are you ready to take that step of self-discovery to become the best version of yourself? I want to guide you in your path to self-discovery, happiness, and peace. I have been counseling clients for over 24 years and I work with all populations. My counseling modalities include Cognitive behavioral therapy, Solution-focused, and Person-Centered therapy. When I counsel children, I use all of these in addition to Play therapy. Many of the therapeutic issues we work together on are Self-esteem, relationships, communication, trauma, PTSD, anxiety, ADHD, Social skills, and grief. I am a licensed therapist and have a Masters Degree in counseling. I have spent many years counseling children, adolescents, and adults. Although therapy may look different with each population, the process is equally meaningful in all sessions.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 10 years of professional mental health experience. I graduated with my Bachelor's in Psychology in 2008 and my Master's degree in Counselor Education, with a graduate certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy, in 2012. I have worked in a variety of mental health settings, which has given me a wide range of clinical experience and allowed me to work with clients from different walks of life and cultural backgrounds. I am radical and revolutionary in thought and praxis and believe in a liberated and equitable world for all people. Clients who tend to be attracted to me are those who may struggle with a lack of confidence and self-esteem, those who are plagued with "Imposter Syndrome", and those who identify as people-pleasers. I also work with People of Color on healing internalized oppression. My clients are often very bright and self-aware but feel they are missing the tools, accountability and higher-level knowledge to get themselves into action and start making tangible, concrete progress. Additional areas of focus: Addictions, LGBT, Relationship issues, Family conflicts, Trauma and abuse, Grief, Intimacy-related issues, Depression, Coping with life changes, Life Purpose, Multicultural Concerns, Prejudice and Discrimination, Self-Love, Women's Issues Therapy does not have to be a years-long, overwhelming or deeply painful process. Many people I have worked with have remarked that they were surprised at how quickly they were able to feel a sense of progress, where they felt stagnant for years or decades prior. While I am very good at what I do, I can only meet you as far and as deep as you are willing to go yourself. Those who are proactive about their healing work and take responsibility tend to make the most progress in the least amount of time.

My focus is to support individuals and couples in healing as they become aware of their inner strengths. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families who have experienced trauma and suffer from addiction, anxiety, grief, or depression. I utilize cognitive-behavioral techniques (CBT), which include identifying and confronting negative thoughts, using guided imagery, visualization, and other coping and relaxation strategies. These techniques have been incredibly effective in managing a multitude of issues. This is achieved by providing a safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan. The plan will utilize cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing through a client-centered approach with the client’s needs and desired outcomes in mind. These methods are effective for people struggling with depression, stress, anxiety, anger, PTSD, self-image, and anyone seeking skills empowering you to live your best life.

Because of her immense experience in working with individuals, children, and families, she has been able to gain and provide numerous tools to help one to be able to live a more healed, free, and authentic life. Michele created the motto “ME In Detail” to help facilitate your own personal soul-care healing and growth movement because “YOU are worth it!” When you take your leap with the “ME In Detail" motto, you are informing yourself and the universe that YOU are ready to own your life in full detail. Michele understands that the journey of healing is a unique experience for each individual that requires time, spaciousness, and gentle support. What makes taking your own leap of faith with Michele different is that she has and continues to do the “in detailed” self-work herself. She realizes that we must continuously care for ourselves at the soul level.

When you’re navigating career decisions, health and lifestyle changes, relationships, or parenthood, you may feel stressed out and unsure as you attempt to define who you are and what you want out of life. At times, you’re confident about your decisions and proud of yourself for taking action. At other times, your self-esteem feels fragile, and you’re certain you’re making all the wrong decisions. Life transitions may bring anticipation and excitement for the future or trigger sadness, anxiety, and fear. I help my clients process and integrate feelings during uncertain times so moving forward with a sense of peace and purpose becomes possible. Together, we’ll practice healthy coping skills so you have resources to turn to outside of sessions to support your well-being. As a first generation Hispanic American you may undergo difficulty navigating the cultural expectations and norms of the Hispanic heritage while assimilating into American culture and balancing family expectations with personal desires. As a licensed clinical psychologist who was born in NJ and raised in South Florida of Hispanic descent, I focus on providing individual psychotherapy to women aged 30 and older.

Hello there, my name is Mariana, and I am here to help you reach your goals. Working in the Mental health, and substance use field for the past 14 years has taught me healing does not necessarily come from one path. Based on the positive outcomes and feedback with those I have treated, I use an integrative healthcare approach, I assess the whole person including body, mind, and spirit in the context of community, considering lifestyle and habits; I work by looking at the whole person and not just symptoms. This leads us to being able to identify and to work on the challenges experienced through a lifetime. I believe that wellbeing is a general state of "contentment" with life and the way things are. In this state of contentment, we experience a sense of balance and connection to a purpose. In my practice I explore with you the main areas of wellbeing and the blockages that have been impeding you to reach your best. I see therapy as a teamwork between you and me in where you share your own experiences and I provide my clinical expertise to implement an individualized plan that works for you. I can provide therapy in Spanish or English. I work mainly using tele therapy in the state of Florida. I am a psychologist in Colombia, South America, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I am also certified to work with trauma, and hold a certification to diagnose and treat personality disorders. I am also a qualified supervisor for graduate students seeking to obtain their master’s degree in mental health. If you still have other questions about therapy or want to know more about me and my professional approach, please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss further

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with British Caribbean roots and from the tail end of the baby boomer generation, I have come to acknowledge the roller-coaster ride that life offers with numerous highs, lows, and constant cycles of new beginnings and closures. My career in the mental health profession began to take shape in 2012, which led me to secure a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from the esteemed University of South Florida. Since 2014, my focus has been on supporting children, individuals, and families in Florida. The unprecedented emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 disrupted our social lives drastically, prompting an increased need for virtual counseling. However, I managed to adapt to this change in my practice, thus registering continuous growth in the Telehealth space from then onward. My practice now serves the wider population.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Florida rather than a city like Tampa?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in the state. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Florida from Miami to Jacksonville! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Florida.

Will my therapist take Surest (formerly Bind)?

Yes! If you use Surest (formerly Bind) you’ll be asked to verify your Member ID at the time you book the appointment. However, if you don’t have Surest (formerly Bind) you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on a specific issue?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

What are the "Clients say I'm" badges?

Grow Therapy asks patients about their experience with therapists after they have had a certain number of sessions. After enough responses, we add those characteristics to their profiles to help you find the best online therapists for you. We're still working on collecting this information from all our therapists.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.

Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
