About me

Hi, I’m Brooke, a licensed therapist who helps adults find relief from anxiety, heal from trauma, and navigate the transitions that life inevitably brings. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative . I want you to feel comfortable, understood, and supported from the very beginning. I primarily draw from CBT, ACT, and EMDR, but I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I get to know you as a person so that we can tailor therapy to what works best for you. Clients often describe me as “calming,” and I think that reflects the kind of space I try to create : one where you can let your guard down, explore what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin to move toward real change. I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to suffer and I believe that no one should have to stay stuck in pain or face it alone.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other. I’ll ask about what brings you to therapy, what’s been feeling difficult, and what you hope to gain from this process. There’s no need to prepare or say things a certain way. My goal is simply to understand you and what’s been weighing on you. You can expect a conversational and relaxed atmosphere. I might ask questions to help clarify your experiences or patterns, but I also know that opening up can take time. We’ll move at a pace that feels right for you. Some people want to dive right into their story; others prefer to get comfortable first and both are completely okay. By the end of the first session, you’ll have a better sense of what therapy with me feels like and what direction we might take together. We might start identifying small, concrete steps to help you feel more grounded between sessions. Most importantly, I want you to leave feeling heard and understood, with a sense of hope that things can get better.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is creating a calm, nonjudgmental space where people can be honest about what they’re feeling. My goal is for you to feel safe even from our first session. I’m skilled at helping people see patterns that they might not have noticed before and I help clients connect the dots between their experiences, emotions, and choices, so they can understand themselves with more compassion rather than criticism. Another strength of mine is adaptability. While I draw from CBT, ACT, and EMDR, I tailor my approach to each person and what they respond to best. Some people need structure and concrete strategies, while others need space for reflection and deeper emotional work. I’m comfortable shifting between those needs so therapy feels both practical and meaningful. I also bring a deep sense of empathy and steadiness. I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to struggle and to feel lost, and that gives me a genuine respect for the courage it takes to reach out for help. My goal is always to help clients feel supported, hopeful, and capable of change, even when life feels overwhelming.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work best with adults who are ready to take an honest look at their lives and make space for growth, even if they’re not sure where to start. Many of my clients come to me because they’re anxious, overwhelmed, or going through a major transition. Some are college students figuring out who they want to be. Others are professionals or parents who “did everything right” but still feel stuck or unfulfilled. I also work with people healing from trauma, whether it’s a single painful experience or a pattern of emotional wounds that have built up over time. You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy. My role is to help you make sense of what you’re feeling, find patterns that might be keeping you stuck, and build tools to move forward with more confidence and peace. If you’re looking for a therapist who will truly listen, help you find perspective, and walk alongside you as you make changes then we will probably be a good fit because that’s the work I love to do.
