I think it is important for a therapist to be able to implement multiple approaches to the therapy process in order to best serve a client. My main focus is helping you make progress and meet your identified goals.
I initially was drawn to being a therapist because I wanted to help others meet life's challenges and understand that sometimes we need a partner/support on that journey. I have worked with many different populations over the course of my career, including children, teens, adults, and seniors. Additionally, I have experience working in many different settings, including community mental health, inpatient mental health units, juvenile justice, nursing homes, and adult corrections. I believe these varied experiences and populations have helped to make me a well-rounded therapist.

Self discovery and self awareness of one's strengths is the key to open a world that one never knew existed.
We try to find that hidden key and access this unbelievable world which is filled with one's positive qualities which ultimately allows one to change around his/her life. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hang-ups and habits holding you back. I look forward to guiding you with gaining an understanding of being the best version of yourself & achieve your fullest potential.

Outside of therapy, I’m a proud dog and cat mom who enjoys spending time at the beach, soaking up the sun, and practicing yoga. I value balance, personal growth, and meaningful connection, and I hope to someday live on an island where life moves a little slower and more intentionally.

As a mental health professional, I believe that prioritizing emotional well-being is essential to living a fulfilling and balanced life. Seeking help takes courage, and I commend you for taking that step toward healing and growth. My work focuses on supporting adults and couples as they navigate challenges such as addiction, anxiety, depression, grief, and major life transitions.
Everyone’s story is unique, and I believe therapy should reflect that. I approach therapy collaboratively—working alongside you to identify goals and find strategies that fit your life.

Welcome! I am Dr. Misti Anderson, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Professional. I have 25+ years in the counseling arena and have worked with clients of all ages. In recent years, I have primarily worked with adolescents. I believe in a collaborative approach where you will feel welcome in a supportive environment. I also strive to create a space where you will feel supported as you develop healthy coping strategies to live your best life.
As a counselor, I believe that healing begins with understanding — both of ourselves and of the patterns that shape how we live, think, and feel.
My approach is person-centered, strength-based, and compassionate. I deeply believe in meeting clients where they are, and I honor the pace at which each person is ready to move. Growth takes time, and every step forward is meaningful. I hold the belief that we each already carry the strength, wisdom, and resilience we need within us — sometimes we just need help uncovering it. By gently shifting away from unhelpful patterns and learning to embrace more empowering ways of thinking and being, we make room for courage, clarity, and transformation.
Most importantly, I want clients to know that this deep and necessary inner work doesn't have to be done alone. As a counselor, my goal is to walk alongside you — with honesty, care, and encouragement — as you navigate life’s challenges and rediscover what’s possible for you.
