LCSW, 5 years of experience
New to Grow
Hi, my name is Megan and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) providing mental health therapy to help clients navigate life's challenges with compassion, empathy, and practical tools for healing and growth. I am an animal lover, a reader, a wife, mom, and passionate Florida gardener and advocate for native plants and sustainable gardening. I see children ages 10+ and adults of all ages; I believe therapy is a collaborative process where clients excel when they feel truly seen and supported. My role is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their story, gain new insights, and build skills to move forward with resilience.
In our first session we will discuss what is bringing you to therapy, any goals and or concerns you may have, and explore a collaborative approach to treatment. First sessions can be awkward and nerve-wracking so I encourage my clients to share only what they are comfortable with and I will meet them where they are.
At the beginning of my social work journey I worked in the medical field where I learned my own strength and resilience as a clinician. I use this strength and resilience to hold space for my clients; I use an integrative approach as I don't think there is any 'one size fits all' approach to therapy.
My ideal client is someone who wants to feel seen, supported, and understood as they are with a desire to grow, heal, and learn to find more balance in their life.
I use concepts from DBT like distress tolerance and emotional regulation to build healthy and sustainable coping skills
I find IFS parts work to be really helpful when doing deeper inner work
I use relational therapy methods to help bridge the gap between provider and client to promote a healthy therapeutic alliance
I utilize trauma informed care in all aspects of my practice to ensure a safe and understanding environment
