(she/her)
Hi, I’m Megan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing therapy to help teens (ages 13+) and adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, empathy, and practical tools for growth and healing. I believe that therapy is a collaborative process where clients thrive when they feel truly seen, supported, and accepted. My goal is to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your story, gain new insights, and develop skills to move forward with resilience and balance. I welcome clients of any faith or belief system-I provide secular, non-religious therapy. Outside of my work as a therapist, I’m an animal lover, avid reader, wife, mom, and passionate gardener with a love for native plants and sustainable gardening.
In our first session, we’ll take time to discuss what’s bringing you to therapy, the goals you’d like to work toward, and any concerns you may have. I know the first session can sometimes feel awkward or nerve- wracking, so I encourage you to share only what feels comfortable. My priority is to meet you where you are and work collaboratively to build trust and understanding from the start.
At the beginning of my social work journey I worked in the medical field where I learned my own strength and resilience as a clinician. I use this strength and resilience to hold space for my clients; I use an integrative approach as I don't think there is any 'one size fits all' approach to therapy.
I am best positioned to work with clients who are struggling to navigate life stressors and family conflict, clients who are wanting to explore how past experiences show up in their daily lives, and clients who are looking for practical and realistic ways to navigate their mental health. My therapy style incorporates concepts from several different types of therapy to meet my clients' specific needs.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I use concepts from therapeutic modalities like DBT to teach distress tolerance and emotional regulation which builds healthy and sustainable coping skills. I approach therapy from a relational point of view, I find having a good therapeutic relationship is so valuable.
Relational
I use relational therapy methods to help bridge the gap between provider and client to promote a healthy therapeutic alliance
Trauma Informed Care
I utilize trauma informed care in all aspects of my practice to ensure a safe and understanding environment
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is at the core of many therapy practices as it helps create healthy mindset and thought patterns.
