Geline Lagrace
You take care of everyone else, so who takes care of you? I'm Geline, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, with 14+ years in behavioral health, including crisis response and trauma recovery. Through my practice, help individuals work through anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, and trauma.
I have had my own healing journey and I know the importance of representation and connections.
My approach is warm, practical, and whole-person, and I offer sessions in English and Haitian Creole. If you're tired of just surviving, I'd love to help you find your way back to yourself.
First session
Starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially if it's your first time, so my first goal is to help you feel comfortable. Our first session is all about getting to know each other. I'll walk you through a brief assessment, asking about what brought you to therapy, what's been weighing on you, your background, and what you'd like to be different in your life. You're welcome to ask me anything about how I work, too. This helps me understand the full picture so we can create a plan that truly fits you. By the end of our first session, you'll have a clearer sense of where we're headed and some initial goals to work toward. Most of all, I want you to leave feeling heard and hopeful.
Strengths
My clients say I listen closely, remember what matters to them, and give practical guidance that actually works. I bring warmth and authenticity, along with years of experience in crisis response and trauma recovery, so very little will surprise me, and nothing you share will be met with judgment. As a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional, I look at the whole you: your stress, sleep, body, relationships, and faith if you want it included. I also bring cultural understanding as a Haitian Creole-speaking therapist. You won't have to translate yourself here, in language or in experience.
Ideal clients
I love working with teens (13+) and adults who are ready to invest in themselves, even if they're not sure where to start. Many of my clients are the strong ones: women who carry their families, careers, and everyone else's needs while running on empty. Others are navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or family stress, or are teens learning to manage big emotions and pressures at school and home. I also enjoy working with Haitian and Caribbean clients who want a therapist who understands their culture and language. You don't need to have it all figured out. Maybe you want to set boundaries, quiet the anxiety, heal from the past, or simply feel like yourself again. I know it can be hard to admit you need help, and I honor every step you take toward healing. Being part of your journey is something I never take lightly.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is one of the core tools I use. Our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are all connected, and sometimes the stories we tell ourselves keep us stuck in anxiety, stress, or low mood. Together, we'll notice the thought patterns that are working against you, challenge the ones that aren't true, and replace them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. You'll leave sessions with practical skills you can use in real life, so you feel more in control of your reactions and more confident handling whatever comes your way.
Mind-body approach
As a Certified Integrative Mental Health Professional, I believe your mind and body are deeply connected. Stress, anxiety, and trauma don't just live in your thoughts; they show up in your sleep, energy, appetite, and physical health. Together, we'll look at the whole picture, including nutrition, movement, rest, and spiritual well-being, and explore complementary approaches that support your healing. My goal is to help you build daily habits and self-care practices that restore balance, so you feel better not just emotionally, but in every part of your life.
Faith-based therapy
For clients who want it, I welcome faith and spirituality as part of our work together. Many people find strength, meaning, and comfort in their beliefs, especially during hard seasons. I can offer emotional and spiritual support as you work through grief, stress, relationships, or life transitions, and help you draw on your faith as a source of resilience. I never impose my beliefs, and this approach is always your choice. Whether faith is central to your life or not part of it at all, you are welcome here.
Psychoeducation
Understanding what you're going through is a powerful first step toward healing. I take time to explain what's happening in your mind and body, whether it's how anxiety works, how trauma affects the nervous system, or why certain patterns keep repeating. I also share practical resources, tools, and information you can use between sessions. When you understand the "why" behind your struggles, they feel less overwhelming and more manageable, and you become an active, confident partner in your own healing.
