There are many activities I enjoy in my day-to-day life, and some of them are: meditating, reading, cooking vegetarian dishes, traveling, also enjoying the family, especially the kids, likes taking walks by the beach, and experiencing sunrise and sunsets. My hope for helping humanity is to bring lightness to work with my clients in these difficult times. Social work chose me! When I wrote my personal essay for my MSW, I realized social work had always surrounded me. I remember helping elderly neighbors, teaching friends how to count money, and researching services for my autistic brother. There were so many events between those gaps and yet to come. I always desired to help people. My brother’s diagnosis widened my eyes to my calling, but life had other plans for me and I became a secretary. As a secretary, I found myself being hired in the mental health arena, including the areas of AIDS research, mental health, addiction services, and college counseling. Social work is my second career but it's always been my first passion. I pull from both my personal and professional experiences and allow these experiences to teach and mold me.
