I’m Terrissa Bryan, LMHC, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than a decade of experience helping youth, adults, and their families break through trauma, anxiety, ADHD, anger, and the patterns that keep them stuck. My work is grounded in trauma‑informed, evidence‑based care and practices, with a focus on collaborative treatment planning, cultural responsiveness, and strengthening the client’s capacity to regulate emotions, manage unhealthy behaviors. My goal is to empower clients to trust their inner voice, build confidence in their own abilities, and develop practical skills that support long‑term resilience. I believe every person has the capacity to heal and grow—and my role is to help you access that strength, clarify your path, and move forward with greater balance and self‑awareness. If you’re ready to step into your own power, strengthen your voice, and create meaningful change, I’m here to guide you with clarity, compassion, and clinical expertise.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Clients can expect a trauma‑informed therapeutic process grounded in evidence‑based interventions. Initial sessions focus on comprehensive assessment, identification of treatment goals, and development of a collaborative treatment plan. Starting therapy can feel new or uncertain, so I work hard to make the first session comfortable and easy to understand. During our first meeting, we’ll talk about what’s been going on, what you want help with, and what you hope will feel different. I’ll ask questions to get to know you better, and you’ll have plenty of space to share at your own pace. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out on day one as we will regularly review of goals and progress. This information guides the development of an individualized treatment plan.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring a calm, steady, and structured presence to every session—something clients often say helps them feel safe, grounded, and able to open up. My background in residential treatment, juvenile programs, and school‑based mental health has strengthened my ability to stay composed in high‑stress situations and respond effectively to complex emotional and behavioral needs. I am skilled at breaking down difficult experiences into clear, manageable steps. My communication style is direct but supportive, making it easier for clients to stay focused, engaged, and confident in the therapeutic process. I also bring strong cultural responsiveness, ensuring each client’s identity, background, and lived experience are respected and integrated into treatment. My goal is not just to help clients feel better in the moment, but to feel heard, develop support, strengthen their inner voice and build their capacity to manage challenges independently.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal client is also someone who wants to strengthen their inner voice. They may struggle to trust themselves, set boundaries, overwhelmed, misunderstood, make decisions with confidence., or stuck in patterns they can’t seem to break on their own. They may be dealing with Anxiety, trauma, ADHD, anger, or emotional ups and downs that make daily life harder—at home, at school, or in relationships. They’re seeking a therapeutic relationship that helps them build resilience, regulate emotions, and develop healthier behavioral patterns they can use independently.
