Hi, I am Dana Adams, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Qualified Supervisor (QS), and founder of Healing Hacienda, LLC based in Trinity, Florida. I earned my bachelor's and master's degree at the University of South Florida and have been practicing clinical social work and providing therapy in the community for the past 15 years. I have extensive training and experience in providing therapy to those who have experienced trauma and the effects of trauma including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), grief and loss, abuse and neglect, stress and life transitions, and the child welfare system.
The initial session will focus on creating a supportive client therapist relationship.
I specialize in evidenced based treatment modalities but are not limited to Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT); Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART); Adoptions Competent training; and certified clinical trauma professional. In addition to clinical practice, I am a Qualified Supervisor for social workers in Florida, and an adjunct instructor at the University of South Florida.
For the past 15 years, I have been helping children, adolescents, both young and older adults, to feel heard and understood.
In individual therapy, I will utilize components of Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) techniques to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors that may be contributing to their distress. Through collaborative exploration and practical exercises, we work together to develop healthier coping strategies and adaptive responses to life's challenges.
Psychoeducation equips clients with the tools and resources needed to make informed decisions and actively participate in their therapeutic journey.
In individual therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will be utilized to address specific needs of clients who experienced traumatic events. Clients will learn to process and make sense of their traumatic experiences, while developing coping skills to manage distressing symptoms. TF-CBT emphasizes safety, trust-building, and empowerment.
Through collaborative exploration and affirmation of strengths, clients gain a deeper understanding of their capabilities and potential for growth. The strength-based approach encourages clients to set meaningful goals aligned with their values and strengths, promoting a more holistic and sustainable path towards well-being.
