I am a Florida DCF Approved Provider (Florida Family Court requires divorcing/separating couples with minor children to complete a DCF approved parenting class before finalizing their divorce). At Family Solutions Counseling, my practice is faith-based. My faith and life experiences are why I chose to become a Counselor. I also approach client concerns from a Solution-focused perspective. We all possess strengths and resources that can be used to attain personal growth and overcome life's challenges. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with experience treating a range of disorders. My psychodynamic background lends itself to the exploration of unconscious conflicts and the impact of early experience. However, I understand that when people seek treatment, they are often experiencing distress. Hence, I understand the importance of focusing on the presenting problem. I believe the therapeutic process is a creative endeavor between therapist and client. As such, I strive to create a warm and safe environment. Empathy and understanding are significant facilitators of therapeutic change. I draw on psychodynamic and existential theory and incorporate elements of cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy as well as mindfulness approaches. Thus, I am flexible in my process and often employ a systematic, eclectic approach to therapy.

I received a Bachelor's degree in Social Work in 2007 from the University of South Florida, and went on to receive my Master's degree in Social Work from USF in 2010. During that time I worked full time and interned working with clients that had experienced traumatic events - mostly sexual assault or abuse. Before starting my private practice, I worked as a school social worker with students ages 3-22 for 12 years, gaining my licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, becoming a qualified LCSW supervisor.

I am licensed in Florida with 23 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, motivation, self esteem, and confidence.
