Hello and Welcome, I’m Annie Altenor a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-QS) based in Florida. I received my Masters from Barry University and have been practicing for over 7 years. I have experience working with individuals and families helping them navigate life’s most challenging transitions. I have experience working in a wide range of populations in various settings from end-of-life, mental health, Caregivers and Veterans, adults struggling with career stress and burnout. My approach to therapy is holistic, incorporating a range of interventions such as person-centered, solution-focused, motivational therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy, all aimed at fostering positive change.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll start with an introduction, discuss what brought you to therapy, and explore your goals. This helps me create a personalized plan for our future sessions. Therapy is a collaborative process, and my aim is to equip you with new skills to cope with life’s challenges and support your personal growth. Each session is 60 minutes long.

My strengths as a provider include connecting with individuals, creating a judgment free space, helping individuals adjust to change and fostering a positive change. My goal is to help clients find new skills to help you cope and grow.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Helping individuals understand how their thoughts impact their emotions and behavior. I've been using CBT to help clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We'll use your insight on the connection between feelings, thoughts, and behaviors to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lessen your anxiety and stressed life.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Helping individuals find solutions rather than just focusing on their presenting problem. In the past with clients, I've used this short term goal focused evidence based therapeutic approach to incorporate positive principles and practices which help clients change and find a solution. We'll navigate through your life's experience and behavior to discover the necessary resources needed to collaborate in identifying a goal and a solution.

Motivational Interviewing

Helping individuals explore their uncertainty towards change, build self-confidence and make a positive change. We'll use Motivational Interviewing therapy to help move you toward acceptance and empowering you to make the changes to solve your problem.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Providing a non-judgmental environment to help you promote growth and improve your well-being. I've used this theory model to help clients become more self-aware, empowered and to find their own solutions in a non-judgmental setting.

Christian Counseling

Utilizing biblical scripture for those clients interested incorporating it into their sessions. In the past clients have shared that integrating spirituality in their session has led to greater mental and physical well-being. I'm able to provide emotional and spiritual support to help you grow and improve your well-being.
