I am licensed therapist in Florida with over 15 years of professional work experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I am EMDR trained and work with children, teens and adults. My therapy style and approach draw influence from Gestalt, Cognitive-Behavioral, Mindfulness and Reality based theories. My interventions include client-centered, motivational interviewing, thought restructuring, and mind/body connecting. I have extensive experience with Trauma, Addiction, Self Esteem/Confidence, Anxiety, Anger, ADD/ADHD, and Depression. I chose to be a therapist when I realized that people’s thoughts, feelings, and actions are rooted in their self-concept and it made sense for me to help with the pain, to be a supporter and cheerleader. My toolbox is large and eclectic and enables me to meet you where you are and help you move forward. We will design your treatment plan specifically for your wants and needs. You have found an ally in this process.

I obtained my M.A. in Gerontological Counseling from Adler University. I have serviced clients from 5 (yrs.) through 90 (yrs.) in academic, clinical, and nursing home settings. I approach therapy within a client-centered climate, using the tenets of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), through a solution-focused lens. I help clients identify obstacles and explore solutions, believing that if one wants something to change, one has to be willing to help foster change. The client and I will explore barriers and remove roadblocks that have denied them their joy. I work with my clients to explore their vision of a better life in a quest to make it their reality. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, and I especially find joy in time spent with my grandchildren. I take advantage of the benefits of exercise and its contribution to attaining balance and minimizing stress. One of my favorite pastimes is baseball. I greatly enjoy attending White Sox games. I love the advantages of living in the city where I can walk, run, or bike, most anywhere I need to go.

Hi there! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida. I received my master’s from New York University and have been practicing for 10 years. Before stepping away to develop my private practice, I worked in the local school system for the last 7 years and enjoyed every moment of it. I have a heart for helping children and families deal with life stressors and changes. So much happens in the life of a child/teen- whether it’s getting ready for college, parents going through a divorce, the death of a loved one, or even anxiety and depression that so many teens experience these days, I am here to help. Getting a therapist for your child helps them to feel heard and supported and is the first step into bringing them back into a closer relationship with the family as a whole.

In a session with me, I will be honest but also supportive. My goal is to get you to a place where you do not need me because we have worked together to help you build a supportive and fulfilling life. To that end, I will incorporate counseling in emotional processing, interpersonal communication, self-care, and career into your sessions because it is our whole lives that determine our happiness and ability to handle stress. I have about 10 years of experience as a psychotherapist. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in business as an efficiencies expert. I have a wide variety of experience from my time in business working in IT and business administration in various markets (from finance to manufacturing). My decision to become a therapist was based on my need to restart my life more happily and healthily a little over 10 years ago. I take a more existential approach to psychotherapy and utilize other approaches such as CBT and DBT and teach about the brain and how it reacts to stress.

If you are struggling with issues related to anxiety and depression, you are not alone. In today’s world, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the daily rigors and uncertainties of life. Thoughts like “am I good enough?” or “can I do this?” typically bring to the surface feelings of sadness, self-doubt and inadequacy. Then, you retreat and live within a dark cloud that could color your experience for years. I teach people strategies to manage themselves so that life doesn't seem so debilitating. As a licensed clinical psychologist, I work together with my patients to identify and change the negative self-talk so that they can face their fears and expand their comfort zone. My areas of expertise include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment to medical conditions and other health issues, college aged students, stress management, adjustment issues related to transitions in life, and aging and geriatric issues.

Thank you for stopping by and congratulations on taking the first step in entering therapy! I find passion in helping clients overcome the stigmas associated with counseling. I particularly find passion in working with males to help them know it is okay to ask for help! Toxic masculinity is real and it impacts how one treats himself and others around him. Our world has the potential to create a lot of stress and havoc. Maybe you're worried about situations you're unable to control and it stops you from going to sleep at night. Could you be feeling gloomy and as a result, you're not taking care of yourself physically and emotionally? As a result of how things have been going are you drinking more than you normally do or using drugs more than you feel you should be? Recent struggles with your sexuality could be causing strain on your relationship with yourself and others and do you find yourself wanting to be more affirming of who you are as a person? Maybe some and/or any combination of these factors has left you feeling lost and/or traumatized and lost as an individual and you are seeking ways to help yourself. If this sounds like anything you're struggling with, let's schedule a session together! If you're on the fence about entering counseling and/or if we would be a good fit, let's schedule a free, 15-minute consultation to help you answer those questions.

Hello, I am Viktoria. Life doesn't always go as planned, and transitions, illness, and trauma are rarely anticipated. Are you struggling with self-defeating patterns that are causing depression, anxiety, and /or a feeling of being stuck? Do you want to make changes in your personal and professional life? Do you have challenges in your relationship? Individuals have unique and individual needs, which should be recognized. Most of the time, you will be able to handle the situation with the help of your friends and family or on your own. There are times when you might need professional guidance and support to learn specific techniques to help you manage your thoughts and feelings. An important aspect of therapy is the opportunity to explore feelings of loneliness, anxiety, depression, grief, and shame, and to begin the process of creating positive and lasting changes. This takes place in a non-judgmental, therapeutic relationship based on empathy, trust, safety, and compassion. My style is calm, warm, and relaxed, and I believe in creating a safe environment for you in which compassion, support, and humor can flourish. Together, we can gain insight and understanding of the relationships between emotions, core beliefs and behaviors in order to find solutions to the problems you are facing.

My name is Mary Vaughan and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for the state of Florida. I have been in the mental health business for 35+ years. I love my work and that is the reason have stayed in it as long as I have. I am a military brat and I have moved around in Europe and many states. Before I begin to work with a client, I tell them some of my background. It is my opinion that the client should know something about his/her counselor before we begin our work. I have had very successful results working with people who suffer from some kind of abuse ( either in childhood or as a young adult.) If abuse has occurred at most any age, the individual may come to me and tell me that they are experincing stress, depression, anxiety and/or panic attacks. Before beginning counseling, I inform the client that we will have a questioning and answer process. This allows the client and me to get to know each other a little better. Based on the information I gather about my client, we discuss what the client wants from their sessions. The individual and I work together as a team. In this process, the client gains a sense of self-esteem and a sense of control over their lives going forward in the future. Finding the right "fit" of counselor and client is key to a successful experience for the client. After the counselor gives the client some unique coping skills, the counselor asks the client if these skills might work for them. These coping skills are "Fluid" and can be modified and changed as we proceed in the counseling process.

Hi, I’m Allison. I approach therapy by looking at the root cause of problems, rather than focusing on one problem at a time. I work from a systemic perspective, which means we will dive into your personal relationships, behavior patterns, and life choices which are interconnected with the issues you may be facing. Whether you've been feeling burned out or been having difficulties in your relationships, together we will find ways to get you to a happier place with better self-care. Many times clients who contact me have no experience in therapy, but just know that their life is not satisfying or something is off. That's enough by the way! Anything and everything can be discussed in therapy. Getting to a place where you are less overwhelmed and more content is an achievable goal, and it can take less time than you think once you get started. I have observed significant shifts in clients I work with, and have seen them become more authentic and empowered. If you'd like to learn more about me and my therapy methods, feel free to visit my website at www.mindtalkhealing.com

Hi everyone! I'm Josh. Do you struggle with social anxiety and poor self-confidence? I know that overcoming it is possible! Many come to therapy because of childhood trauma and how it has manifested in their adult lives. Often this manifests in feelings of poor self-confidence, self-worth, and social anxiety. At its root, the fundamental belief of those who have social anxiety is the belief, “I am not enough.” Clients get into the habit of comparing themselves to others and it makes them feel inadequate and insecure. Over time clients begin to avoid situations that elicit their anxiety, particularly social situations. This can lead to social isolation and loneliness. Clients will present with complaints of frequent panic attacks, not having a romantic partner, not having friends, not being happy in their jobs and feeling disconnected from life. They are labeled by others as shy, quiet, or introverted. This scenario described myself for much of my life which gives me lived experience to better able to assist you. I help individuals combat their social fears and begin to live a rich and fulfulling life. I do this through cognitive behavioral therapy techniques primarily but also integrate solution-focused therapy, assertiveness training, exposure therapy, and acceptance & commitment therapy. Whether you're a teen struggling to make friends and socialize or you are an adult unable to speak up at work meetings or unable to ask someone out on a date, I'm here for you! Seeking therapy can be frightening but I want to assure you that you will be most welcome if you take that leap of faith!
