I am a Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to supporting adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, difficult life transitions, addictions, and relationship challenges. I believe therapy is a journey inward—one that honors the mind, heart, and spirit and can ultimately create greater peace, connection, and satisfaction in life. My work is grounded in the belief that we each have inner strengths and wisdom that can become difficult to access when we are overwhelmed by loss, change, painful experiences, or long-standing patterns. Therapy can help us reconnect with those strengths, develop new ways of coping, and move toward a greater sense of clarity and self-compassion. I sometimes think of this as reconnecting with our Best Self—rediscovering the qualities within us that allow us to live more authentically . I hold a Master of Arts in Spiritual and Counseling Psychology and have trained in grief and loss, community mental health, psychiatric settings, and addiction treatment as well as maintaining a private practice. I am committed to creating a safe and compassionate space where clients can explore what is difficult while also discovering their capacity for growth and change. My approach is integrative and relational. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and shift unhelpful thoughts and patterns; mindfulness and acceptance-based practices to cultivate present-moment awareness and self-compassion; and existential/spiritual perspectives to explore meaning , authenticity and purpose. Therapy is a collaborative process. Together, we make space for your experiences, your relationships, your losses, and the transitions you are facing—while honoring the wisdom you have gained along the way. Whether you are seeking relief from emotional pain, navigating a significant life change, or simply wanting to feel more connected to yourself and your life, therapy can offer an opportunity to reconnect with what is strong, meaningful, and alive within you.

Life can feel overwhelming when past experiences continue to show up as anxiety, stress, or emotional exhaustion. You may notice patterns that don’t make sense, feel stuck in survival mode, or carry a heaviness you can’t quite name. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what’s beneath the surface, and begin responding to life with more clarity and self-compassion. You don’t have to navigate difficult seasons alone—healing is possible, and support can make the path forward feel more steady and manageable. Hello, my name is Steven Nelson, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over nine years of clinical experience. While my professional background includes family and relationship therapy, my current focus is working with individuals, helping each person navigate their unique journey toward healing, personal growth, and emotional well-being. Life's difficulties are a natural part of the human experience. At times, individuals may feel isolated in their struggles or believe that no one truly understands what they are going through. When left unaddressed, these difficulties can become overwhelming and interfere with one's ability to move forward. I believe that meaningful change is possible through a compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based therapeutic approach. My goal is to provide a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where clients can gain insight, build effective coping skills, strengthen resilience, and develop healthier ways of managing life's challenges. Together, we can work toward healing, personal wellness, and lasting positive change. I first and foremost adapt my style of therapy to meet your needs. We work together to identify what best supports you toward your goals or areas of focus in therapy. Some clients progress through insight and understanding about an issue while others progress through tangible present-moment skills and tools, all of which I can provide support you with. I also feel that Identity (race, gender, sexual orientation, etc) plays an important role about how we experience the world and how the world views us and I incorporate this into therapy. I see therapy as an equal and collaborative effort between us. I offer a broad range of personal experiences and clinical background to therapy. I enjoy working with people of color and I identify strongly with them. I have extensive experience working with couples, mixed race individuals, inter-racial relationships, the LGBTQQI community, and athletes. I believe I have a great feel for supporting you to be comfortable entering into therapy. Finding a balance of acceptance of you and where you are at in your life while also supporting you with the change you want to make. I’m Allan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who believes therapy—especially for kids—doesn’t have to mean sitting on a couch talking about feelings for 50 minutes. Sometimes the best conversations happen over LEGOs, games, art, play, or while doing something that makes it easier to simply be yourself. Online, it could mean processing trauma, playing online therapeutic games with children (or adults if you want to). I especially enjoy working with children and teens, including kids who are anxious, overwhelmed, navigating trauma, struggling with big emotions or behaviors, or having a hard time putting what’s happening inside into words. I use play, creativity, humor, and evidence-based approaches to build connection and help kids develop skills without therapy feeling like another place where adults are telling them what to do. I also work with adults navigating trauma, mood concerns, relationships, identity, major life changes, and life’s more complicated chapters. My style is warm, humorous, direct, and genuinely human. I draw from DBT, EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT, play-based interventions, Theraplay-informed practices, narrative therapy, and trauma-informed care, adapting therapy to the person in front of me rather than expecting them to adapt to therapy. My professional experience includes inpatient psychiatry, juvenile justice, child welfare, family services, and community mental health, so I’m comfortable working with both everyday struggles and situations that feel especially complicated. Whether we meet in my Eureka office or online, my goal is to create a space where you—or your child—feel safe, understood, and comfortable showing up exactly as you are. My practice is LGBTQIA+ and gender-diverse affirming and neurodiversity-affirming. And yes, there are credentials behind the LEGOs.

Welcome! I am genuinely glad that you are here. It isn’t always easy to put your trust and safe keeping of personal feelings and experiences into another, so I am honored to get to know your story. I have had the privilege of working with children, teens and adults from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, who have various relational preferences, etc. What I want to convey is that everyone is welcome here! A little about me- I have spent many years working as a school based Mental Health Therapist, so I very familiar with the unique experiences of school educators, administrators, and other supporting staff. I have been involved in Special Education and IEP meetings, and have supported parents and students in this area. Additionally, I continue to dedicate myself to the research and understanding of complex relationships and various attachment styles, and enjoy supporting my clients in those areas. I am also well versed and comfortable in supporting my clients through anxiety, depression and the processing of grief/loss. I would like you to know that I genuinely care about the emotional well-being of my clients, and my hope is that you feel safe and comfortable in sharing with me.

Couples: I am TAKING Couples again. However only on Cash Pay basis. This is how it will work: You can schedule with me an hour consultation, you don't both have to be present, for this Consultation. From there we will meet 5 to 6 times for 1.5 hour sessions. It is very difficult to have Couples sessions within 60 min. The Cash pay is $300.00 for the 1.5 hour sessions. I understand the cost can be a deterrent in seeking help, however if you are both committed to doing the work 5 to 6 sessions should be productive and enough to see changes. Individuals: Of course I am still taking individuals that are or are not in a relationship and need help. We were never taught how to be in a relationship of any kind. Yes there are tons of books of how to, however to put them to practical use can be very difficult. This can also relate to a relationship with a family member, friends or co-workers. I am here to help with coping strategies for anxiety and depression symptoms or learning how to communicate more effectively with others. For Clients that are insured by Kaiser: I will be confirming your appointment 48 hours before the appointment by email, please email me back with a confirmation. If you do not respond to my email I will cancel the appointment. I am sorry to have to do this, however I have had an excessive amount of no shows. Thank you for understanding.

Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Los Angeles and Fresno California. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California and have been practicing for the past 8 years. I work with adults and older adults navigating anxiety, depression, gender dysphoria, life transitions, and identity-related stressors. Much of my clinical experience has centered on supporting underserved communities of color within correctional facilities, psychiatric hospitals, and community mental health settings. I am especially passionate about working with LGBTQ+ individuals, including queer and trans people of color, and have experience facilitating LGBTQ+ support groups as well as collaborating within gender-affirming care teams. My approach is grounded in cultural humility, authenticity, and creating a space where clients feel seen, affirmed, and empowered in their healing journey. I strive to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their experiences, strengthen coping skills, and reconnect with their sense of self and community.

Hello, I remember a joke from sometime ago that goes something like this: "Three friends were walking together one day, and one remarked, 'It's windy,' Another responded, 'No. It's Thursday.' Still the other answered, 'I'm thirsty, too. Let's have a cup of tea.'" Is it that way for you sometime? Finding that you are not really being heard and understood? I get it! I work with clients to help them find their strengths and abilities that assist them in better communicating their needs to themselves and to others which can lead to better outcomes in overall functioning in their lives. If that sounds like your experience, we can talk about it together.
