In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session we will begin with introductions, review limits to confidentiality and limits within the therapeutic relationship. Initial intake paperwork will be reviewed followed by a discussion on reasons for seeking therapy. I will inquire specifics on your history, symptoms, education, relationships and living situation. I will inquire your goals for treatment and what will make you feel supported in achieving this goal.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My combined 19 years plus of experience working with children, adults and families in mental health settings, behavioral supports and on Individualized Education Programs (IEP's) in the school setting has taught me planning and implementation of services should be based on each individuals needs and how to support their goals. I am strongly committed to assisting individuals in receiving the necessary tools they need to be healthy, happy well-rounded individuals in their communities. In addition, I am trained in a variety of specialized areas such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Positive Parenting and Emotional Regulation tools, DBT skills.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I practice CBT beginning with Psychoeducation and going through stages of cognitive restructuring, balanced thinking, identifying core beliefs, developing new cognitive skills, identifying feelings, skills for managing unpleasant thoughts and feelings, changing behavior problem solving skills.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I utilize Person Centered Treatment by attending to clients presenting needs, summarizing asking clarifying questions reflecting asking processing questions utilizing concreteness and specificity practicing self-disclosure, When it will benefit the client utilizing confrontation and immediacy.

Grief Therapy

I am a certified Grief therapist who approaches grief as a part of life that we process through as individuals but need support as we navigate this challenging transition (grief can mean many different things to different people).

Jessica has been such a key stone to my personal growth these last few months, i honestly am so grateful that i have been able to work with her and find a place in my life where everything finally seems balanced!
